If you have a good trading strategy and you believe you can offer other people a good service, is there anything wrong with becoming an introducing broker ? I have noticed over the years with the growth of online trading, people from all walks have tried their luck being a trader or becoming an IB , while some have provided a good service to others, others have taken advantage and mis sold what trading is.

Has anyone ever worked with an IB before or worked as one, what are your thoughts on being a IB?

An introducing broker (IB) is a person or company who solicits or accepts orders to purchase or sell futures contracts, commodities options, retail off-exchange currency contracts, or swaps but does not accept money or other assets from consumers to back up these orders.

No I do not work with IBs. But I know they are exist. And they are working and promote brokers or their products. I do not see anything bad in this case. Everyone earns the way they can. Someone knows how to trade, and someone knows how to promote. Choose for yourself what is close to you.

If you use the broker and they have always been solid and reliable for you and you've worked to gain an audience then there is no harm in recommending them and making some money off of it if anyone uses your link. Just be honest that it's an IB and don't hold it against people if they don't use it. The problem arises where people use IB links for brokers they'd never really use themselves just to jump on a bandwagon to make some money.
If you can't spot the liquidity then you are the liquidity.
