Good day to all,

Do anybody know of a broker who have mini contract sizes (10,000units) on which you can trade 1lot, 0.1lot and 0.01lot for MT4 platform both live and demo.

IBFX had but they sold out and InstaTrader have but their servers is too slow.

Oanda offers very small contract sizes. Another option would be to use a cent account.

Thanks for the information. I have download all their mt4, registered demo but all the demos is standard lot sizes. A micro account demo would also work but can't seem to find one. Oanda would work great but their MT4 is still standard contract sizes.

Also how do brokers work with micro account if you trade 0.01 of the lot. Do you get a tenth of a cent?

With various live chat with brokers I have come to the conclusion that I either don't understand forex maths or that brokers false advertise their products. Please see table below of how I understand contract sizes to lot sizes. The values would be 1 pip on any xxxUSD currency.

Standard Contract Size Mini Contract Size Micro Contract Size
Units: 100,000 10,000 1,000

Standard Lot (1 lot) 10$ 1$ 0.10$
Mini Lot (0.10 lot) 1$ 0.10$ 0.01$
Micro Lot (0.01 lot) 0.10$ 0.01$ ???

I understand that a broker will cap you on a Micro Account of minimum lot size 0.1 and step of 0.1. Could someone please explain to me what is wrong with my calculations?

I am on Oanda's MT4 platform right now. They allow for mico lots. You may have to type '.01' in the volume drop down.

Thats curious. Dont look for 0.1 or 0.01 lot size. Its better to look for low contracts, like eg 10 contracts for indices. This will make You able to enter market at lower margin needen when have 1:100 leverage.
