Perhaps some of us that know our way around a platform would like somewhere to discuss these things and compare notes. Steve is not taking anyone for a ride here and your insinuation is in poor taste.

Sorry, my mistake. It should have been posted in the general section

Thanks for all the comments folks.
I'm away at the moment so this will be a short reply.

I think the new strategies section is a great idea. Not only does it allow one to privately carry out analysis on EA's to check out their monthly consistency but it also opens up MyFxBook for a wider debate on MT4 and it's limitations/possibilities.

Already this thread has hopefully helped inform some people and that can only be a good thing. Of course there will be people that abuse it, but then it's down to each individual to establish the veracity of systems.

I do however appreciate the help and would be interested in your findings.

I've been using this link

mt4i.com/spread/symbol.aspx?symbolid=4

and this link

https://mt4spreads.com/

To check spreads and obviously discounting any of the brokers that have bad reputations.

Referring to the information on the Spread in https://mt4spreads.com/
just check that the information is false,
CMS Spread appears with a weekly average = 0.8
I have a real account and the minimum is 2.0 and the average is over 2.5

This is outrageous, to draw their own conclusions !!!!!!

Very nice scalper Steve, congratulations. With a premium in tadawulfx, with fixed and low spreads this maybe will run fine. But of course premium=100K.

I dont have any scalpers running in any account, add me to the future list clients. ;)
Yeah i know my grammar sucks, I speak spanish. Sorry if something doesnt make sense ;)

Thanks for the support folks and thanks to all the people who emailed offering to help out with the EA if they could.

I'm back from my short break now and raring to go to get this EA to a stage where I'm happy that the live trading can come close to the backtest results. If I can make it perform to even 1% of it's potential I will be happy!

Thanks for the compliment, but to be fair, until it's making money in a live account it's really just an academic exercise.

Hi Petar,
Is this the spread across a whole day?
At the moment I think MB trading are winning on spread. They seem to be able to keep it below about 2 pips, although obviously there would be commission to be paid on top of that.

The system has yet to prove itself in live trading. There is one problem with it. The backtest was generated during the day when the EUR/CHF spread is lower than during the evening so in real trading it would not be as profitable.

I am currently working on improving the EA to make it much more accurate and to ensure that the spread is not a problem with the EA as well as ensuring that I have the best broker for EUR/CHF.

Once I have done this I will be backtesting it against Dukascopy tick data.

Just wondering, will you be selling your EA?

At this stage, as it's still in development I have not made a decision on what I will do with the EA. However, if I can make it anywhere near as profitable as this backtest then it is unlikely to be released commercially. It would be cracked and making the circuits before the paypal payments hit my account. It would then flood the markets with orders and very quickly become as useless as the likes of Fap Turbo.

I would probably take on a limited number of clients to protect it's trading ability via a PAMM account or some similar mechanism.

Hi Steve,

very good work! Steady high hit rate and very low drawdown.

There are only a small number of EA's which shows such a behaviour. The high lot numbers will not be realizable, but that is only mathematics. In real trading you will be able to realize a wonderful linear equtiy curve - if you find the right broker.

I am also programming my own strategies, but in fact I am a novice. I have tried so many of useless logics that I can not count them anymore.

Can you give us some hints about the logic behind your Pinpoint strategy? Or in general - how a good scalper should work?

Please do not misunderstand, I do not want to copy or reproduce. I want to learn! And this is what a forum like this should be, a place to share experiences.

Thanks for your help!
Christian.

P.S. What happens if you activate the trailing option? Does this improve the result in pips?

Hi Christian,
The trailing option is only there as I use a default template on most of my EA's. I start with an EA that can create orders and manage orders and then just plug the logic in. I haven't tried the trailing stop and hadn't considered it, although I may use it to add a jumping stop so that say if it got to 4 pips I would move to breakeven.

With regards to my EA development. I try and think of something different to what most people are doing based on what I know about chart and candlestick patterns. I don't use indicators in the conventional sense, ever. I always keep it as simple as possible.

I also try and emulate manual strategies that I have traded previously as this tends to work best for me.

All I will say is keep trying, my signature is not far off the mark. I have written and watched so many EA's fail in testing.
