I was expecting a cascade of trades after today's NFP but the bot entered none at all on mixed data: despite the nearly consesnsus reading for this month, there has been a downward revision to mere 84K for March. With no strong recovery in sight, I expect the losses to continue for the remainder of month and into June. I will leave my bot on for the time being unless and until they will grow critical.

If you further look at the historical NFP reported vs. revised figures, you'll see that either the US Bureau of Labor Statistics is using some horribly inaccurate data collection methodology or it's trading made-up changes to made-up numbers: http://blogs.reuters.com/global-markets-forum/2014/04/02/will-nfp-surprise-look-at-historical-data-revisions-vs-forecasts/
As for KeltnerPro, if you exclude its January 15 USDCHF spike which doubled this account of the vendor yet blew his other one with FXChoice, you'll find this bot's trading unprofitable since last year's November.

As I only run KeltnerPro since March 6, it means no profits and a couple of months in VPS costs.

Hi,
I purchased my copy of Keltner Pro 8/14/14. I have had mixed results but I did well yesterday on the GBPUSD trade. The EA put three orders as it does. Mine made money on all 3 of those particular trades. I noticed that the master account did not trade that same trade as well so I sent Jared a screen shot of my account to be helpful. But now today my Keltner Pro license is not working. I don't know why my license is not working and I have not heard back from support . Has anybody else had their license tagged in this manner?

Simply go to their website; i also suggest you to use some discount available on many affiliates sites (up to 20%), or asl for some direct discount to Jared (i never buy an EA without asking a discount and sometimes had very good prices)

Thanks your reply. I have been to their website, but i cannot find some way. Would you recommend some affiliate site or one direct way? Getting discount is really a good idea.

Keltner is one of the few good longterm strategies out there. Specially on EU , and on GU is not bad at all. But people looks for holy grails, for EAs which never fails: if u see an equity curve too straight, or is a martigrid (and it will blown ur account) or is curve fitted, and this is even more dangerius. Every valid startegy has his DD periods: u need confidence and proper money managment: people does not have confidence, because don't know how to correctly evaluate staretgies and so run an EA, it start to lose and they stop it; then the EA recover (but they are out) and they jump in again, but now the EA start again to go in DD. In the menatime they look for a new grail and lose money also on this. It is a neverending story. Learn how to evaluate a startegy, manual or automated, fix your risk and the max DD u want to reach and the max DD which invalidate the startegy.
The recipy to become rich in 1 year does not exist. My opinion is that with forex we cannot become rich, we can only try to boost our overall portfolio performance. Invest in forex only a small part of ur capital and when u put some money on a trading account be ready for the worse. But, never run a startegy because other people do, make ur own research and evaluation. Forex industry is full of craps and BS, but fortunately something good is available

DD i mean Drawdown. It vary based on the lotsize u use. I think is better to not go beyong 0.02 each 1k. Of course u can risk more, but the DD will be higher and so in bad periods, which happens of course, psycologically will be harder to keep the due confidence

Good EA, sametimes DD is hard, In my opinion we never trade more than 1% , Corre71 what is the best combination using this Keltner EA with another EA?

Hi Alas, i am using many EAs (and many other now are in the recycle bin). I prefer to not go OT and to not speak here of EAs other than Keltner. I am posting with other old friends on babypips about EAs (you can join our discussions there) or u can PM me. Mostly i am running Breakouts and scalpers, all with good forward tests and good BT results. The only thing i do not like is that i am too exposed on BOs, so i need volatile markets and in calm markets i will suffer. But in the meantime i enjoy the volatility and my accounts are up in 20 days from 40 to 75% 😀
DD periods will come but i am prepared and i run all my EAs with low risk
Running only Expert advisors with good long term backtests and nice forward tests

You're spot on regarding Keltner and more...I concur with you 100% and basically doing same as you.

Today showed why simply systems with good risk reward ratio are succesfull: they can go in DD, can have long stagnation periods, but till when the strategy is still valid they always recover. Today a very good day for Keltner and other BOs (fortunately am running a total of 4 BOs and all of them today have scored very high gain today and the whole month of May, with huge returns). Good week end to all and keep confident 😄
