I am wondering if anyone else is having such massive problems to get MDP running with STOP orders enabled?! I am always getting:
2011.10.07 18:23:00 MillionDollarPipsEURUSD_1.2.0 EURUSD,M1: 3:7,1: WARN Unable to create BUYSTOP price:1.34169 SL:1.33975 TP:1.34349
2011.10.07 18:23:00 MillionDollarPipsEURUSD_1.2.0 EURUSD,M1: 3: ERROR unhandled error (unable to repeat command) : invalid trade parameters
I have tried with 2 brokers, both allow STOP orders to be placed to the current market price with minimum distance of 0 (!!) pips. MDP only requires a minimum distance of 3 pips, so all should be fine if my brokers even allow 0 pips distance - also MDP says that the stop_level is fine. But still, not ONE STOP order worked on either broker within 10 days of use, always getting thos "invalid trade parameters" message. Now I know that I can simply just use market orders by disabling the Use_Stop_Orders variable and the orders DO execute fine this way, but the open time is to high with market orders and so I really would like to avoid them.
William, the creator of MDP, is not replying to me. So I am wondering for whom STOP orders with MDP are actually working correctly all the time without errors? Anyone? Or are you all using market orders?

Just ask Nick. And read about market structure a bit.

I am not, people (and HFT) are buying on retracements. MDP has analytic algo that evaluations recent market volatility, range or channel borders and estimates when retracement starts. MDP sells where momentum and break out traders are buying.
I give up. Someone else can explain it to you.

They work absolutely fine with all brokers recommended in MDP manual. But people look more for excitement of experiment than for money.

so far I have had a terrible time dealing with this EA called Million Dollar Pips. Please see my live account before making any buying decision. I have been live with this account for almost 2 weeks now and already down more than 16%!! I followed the advice of this vendor and trade on US recommended HOT FOREX account and have a FOREX VPS server also as recommended by this vendor. The only change I made to the default setting is make order grouping = true as it was not trading much before and even this I am thinking of going back to the original setting, so anyone who is evaluating this robot, please do review what people are writing about it before you buy Million Dollar Pips.
Also, the creator of this EA, a guy called William Morrisson is not responding to any emails sent to him, so that should tell you the kind of customer support they have in place.

Good job. I was running 0 8 8 under impression these were defaults, had an overall small loss over NFP, reverted to defaults.

Pepperstone recommend Galaxy Visions VPS for the new NY infrastructure.
I would err on the side of caution with them.
My past 24 hours with them has been horrendous.
Random VPS freezes, and random reboots.
Simple OS interactions, like opening control panel, computer properties, trying to install software etc, cause randoom freezes lasting from a few seconds to a few minutes. It is not a problem with connectivity as not a single ping is dropped, it is a problem with the OS or the virtualisation platform.
They promise 100% uptime, and say they guarantee it, yet this afternoon I notice my VPS has been rebooted. I queried them and they say they had to restart it to perform host OS patching.
I also contacted their live chat/support last night about the performance issues, after explaining it they proceeded to ignore me for 15 minutes until I closed the session.
I contacted them again tonight about the performance issues, and the random reboot, and to requested a refund. They advised me that they rebooted the host OS to perform security patching, thus violating their 100% uptime guarantee, and moved my VPS to another 'more powerful' host to fix the performance problems, involving yet another unscheduled reboot.
This proves:
1. They cannot offer/guarantee 100% uptime.
2. They over-subscribe hosts and do not actively monitor host utilisation balancing load accordingly
3. Cannot hot migrate VMs to other hosts to perform maintenance.
These guys are the worst VPS provider I have used to date in terms of uptime and performance.
Perhaps I caught them off their guard, but I suggest people to be weary of them.

NEVER use VPS recommended by bot seller/developer. Developer takes a commission from each VPS plan, so they are not interested in how good MDP works but how much commission they get.
My advise: I ask broker to reveal IP number, then a select potential VPS providers who have the closest location and select one. And remember, the cheapest VPS usually means the bad choice, processor's power is important

Perhaps you misread.
Galaxy Visions is recommended by the BROKER, not the EA developer.
A good way to choose a VPS is the ask the broker which VPS provider their customers get best performance with, or are located in the same datacenter.
Galaxy Visions is a recommended one, and has 1ms latency to the broker servers.
Oh and it's not a problem with 'processor's power'.. CPU utilisation is at 0-5%. It's a problem with the OS, or the virtualisation platform it is running on.

I wouldn't go for VPS recommended by broker either. For the same reasons I've described.
I find it unusual that you are so distrustful of both developers and brokers in their recommendations on VPS providers, on the basis that they are out to make money, yet you trust MDP? News flash, the developers primary goal is to make money, he doesn't care if the product works, just that you think it works and he makes the sale. If that wasn't the case he wouldn't falsify his claims, and his account would be a live account, not a demo account. Yes MDP works in some situations, but the developers primary goal is to profit.
