In May I traded contrarian-wise to the trend and was taking profits quickly on pullbacks and then BE on deeper retracement

I was doing the same, but gave up too early. :) I ended up giving in to the bears talk and gave me a bit of drawdown! :) I figured it was bottom or close to. Good trading though! Awesome jobs! :)
