Thank you for the link. These stats look interesting but they are quite old...I think we cannot simply throw numbers without specifying the group of people they relevant 😄 It's interesting to see how much of the well prepared new traders actually become successful, excluding the hazardous majority that take trading like going to casino.

Looking at hourly timeframes the pair is in a steady downtrend over the last days. I see signs of correction at around 1.1711. Breaking the 1.1740 level can confirm it.

What do you mean by small leverage exactly? How much it should be? I think leverage also depends on the instrument traded (major pair or exotic, for example)...

What was the size of your orders? If you had a huge slippage with small trades this could be quite weird. Maybe the no last look option speeds up the execution of the orders, but I am not sure.

It is difficult if not impossible for a single trader to become market leader I guess. The leading part is reserved for the big institutions but psychology is important to lead one's way to success.@mlawson71 I agree with you, you say it very well!

I think key to success is to have your own strategy that fits your trading style and corresponds to your skills, no matter of the account type. Even if you use money manager, you still need to have an investment strategy with clear risk-reward ratio and tolerance to risk.

Having lower leverage is one side of the story, another is to have a negative balance protection offered by the broker so that at least your losses don't exceed your deposits.

I agree with the advices above. In my early steps in trading I used to get attracted by such bonus promotions and wiped my account completely, then the broker never accepts any liability in such cases. The broker is covered but you are not. So be careful as such flashy things are not as good as they seem.

I also think it will be step by step transition over the next couple of years. MT4 fans will discover MT5 and maybe move to it if they don't choose another platform.

I also think that with trading there is always periods with a loss, small or big but the loss exists in our records.
