The US dollar recorded a modest decline against the Japanese yen on Monday. The session started at 106.93 and the dollar lost only 18 pips. The recent upward movement is impetuous but USD/JPY continues to find support from the 20-year moving average. Levels at 107.70 remain the primary objective.

The British pound recorded an increase against the US dollar on Monday. The session started at 1.4087 and finished 43 pips higher. The chart continued to grow above the moving averages, while the relative strength index remained neutral. Overall, the upward movement is devoid of impulse, but a break of 1.4215 will reinforce positive attitudes.

The single currency recorded a positive session against the US dollar on Monday. The currency pair opened at 1.2283 and the price bounced from the first support at 1.2260. After all, the euro ended at 1.2320 and if bullish sentiment continues, perhaps there will be a resistance test at 1.2370.

Yesterday’s strong drop in Cable has been in tandem with rising volume and shrinking open interest, although by irrelevant levels.
