He probably meant 20-100% drawdown.
5% average monthly profit for at least 2 years (with less than 25% max. DD)

I have still yet to see a single account make even 0.1% per day, everyday, 260 trading days a year. Please let me know when you find one.

IF your friend wants to do "what you're doing", wouldn't you be the best person to ask ? Instead of a bunch of strangers, who have no idea what you do, and what your friends exact financial position, and character is like ?I really don't understand what you're trying to achieve here.

Guys, chill out. No need to be offended or defensive. Everyone has their own opinion on whats better, and what works for them. You win some, you lose some. There's no point on trying to impose your values on someone else, less so when its on an anonymous forum. The USDCHF move was less than on the EURCHF, but to me, still significant. Here it is. Peace.

To each their own. I'm not here to convince you that I'm right and you're wrong. I'm just sharing my opinion. Btw, 300 pips ?

IMHO, the CHF travesty was a major event. Directional volatility was up over 1000% on CHF pairs. You'd be hard pressed to find another event like that in the last 10 years. 250mio is a lot of money to lose, but it does prove a few things :1. they are NOT a bucket-shop2. they are a business worth saving, and it took less than 72 hours for investors to decide3. even in the thick of it, clients were able to move 5-6 figure amounts out without hassle Disclosure : I have multiple client and accounts at FXCM, which I use only for execution.

I don't know where to find investors, but I'm pretty sure that myfxbook would probably be the wrong place.

I'm with FXCM, too. Transferred in from IBFX. The upside, which the EURCHF debacle proved, is that they're not a bucket shop, and they're solid enough to get a bailout. Execution is pretty good, but customer service is the shits. I'll have to stick with them for now, until I find an alternative. It's going to be quite a lot of work to move all the clients as well. Have you considered1. CitiFX Pro2. Oanda3. IG Markets4. LCG

Not to be absolutely condescending, but if you have to ask that question, you should have already withdrawn your money.

I think bending the rules from time to time to adapt to sudden fundamental changes is acceptable. Eg : closing USD positions during the "end of tapering" announcements. Central bank intervention is something that cannot be ignored, especially when quantums are large. However, advertising a position/trend trading strategy that holds positions for weeks, then 3 months later, changing to day trading strategy is a very big no-no. This is of course an exaggeration, but the investor needs to be informed, and will probably need to conduct full due diligence again, if there are any significa...

It is true : "past performance is not indicative of future returns" ..... but it is a bloody good indication. A long track record with decent results will always outshine a short track record with very high returns. It shows the manager can :1. perform in good and bad market conditions.2. manage his/her mental state - no over leveraging and revenge trading when the chips are down.3. manage accounts, and i'm talking about back room operations - client management, accounting, audit etc.4. manage style drift - as to not hop from system to system causing the funds to behave erratical...

I'm curious as to how much history @DFFXFUND considers enough of a track record, and how much he is considering to invest.

It looks like they're too many decimals on your gold trade. The $ value may be correct, but the pip calculation looks wrong. just saying. http://www.myfxbook.com/files/wlk1/cap.jpg

Just been with them 3 months since the transfer from IBFX. Haven't really had problems with trading or retail client service. Just had slow response with the institutional client services. I think they've reduced spreads now, but it doesn't bother me too much. Its the rollover thats painful. Not really avoidable since I hold my positions so long. Yeah ... good luck for 2015!

Hey man... Yeah still going. Been a rough year for us trend traders. Low volatility + flip flop forward guidance topped off with IBFX selling out to FXCM. Has been a roller coaster year! Good riddance 2014. Looking forward to 2015. 😈😈😈😈😇😇😇
