Why is this spam so targeted

I normally ignore spam, till I received the e-mail below.

I hope like hell you're not selling e-mail addresses. I have to wonder, how did they know that I'm into fx ? Where the **** did they get my e-mail from...?

While I do understand your frustration I would recommend you delete the post immediately otherwise you make these spamming assholes an advertisement...

I suspect that some Brokers sell your E-Mail address plus your cell-phone numbers. I receive a lot of forex-spam by E-Mail and spam calls from UK (they look for gullible Investors for their crap Investments). I can recommend the App 'Calls Blacklist' for your phone, so you can add the Spammer-number directly from your call-protocol to the blocking list. And for the e-mails: just mark them as spam, they come mostly from the same assholes.

Agree Rob myfxbook has to do something to stop this spamming and scamming from the same person who just keeps setting up new profiles every few days and blocks everyone in their thread who are warning others about the scam which originated with Ammy scalper then mbot now holygrailfx and the list goes on and on...

agree too... Its very annoying and it impacts the quality of this site I like very much. Please do something Ethan ;o)

oops ,suddenly there is less of those today for the first day in 3 or 4 months ,they must have read the thread and decided to to slow down a litle bit,they have an i.p adress you should ban amy ,and the other link cause they make the forum looks like a banana forum,affecting the forum credibility and seriousness

I notice this persistent spammer/scammer has changed the topic names to ...................................... to fly under the radar, and once the heat dies down I am sure he will be back. To show you how many scammer false arbitrage systems he has put up here's the list of links he created to spruik his scam, some people were fooled and lost $2K odd for an EA that will never work in real account.

Didn't take him long to create a new account and spam the board with another fake system

This is probably the right way to filter , although the issue is that non spammers new comers will also be penalized. But I do not see a better solution as for now

Need to brush up mate, blocking an IP address is like blocking a rain drop. Still going to get wet. Takes me about 1 second to change my IP and I have a nearly infinite supply of them.

There's just no point.
