Yes not much happened,I took a short from 88750 TP 88450 moving my stop down so I will have no loss.

EUR/GBP broke the 23.6% Fibo resistance, 0.89 is ahead.

Exactly. The pair doesn't bring much risk.

On the daily chart it has hit the MA sellers might take control here for awhile ,price is a bit on the high side.

There is some sudden and unexpected volatility (for me at least) on the short time frames. What did I miss, what is going on?

End of year ,closing positions ,sellers trading off the 50hrMA, earlier we had GB data .

Cryptos are the big surprise today,glad I'm not a big player in that area,might be some bargains at these levels.

Why am I not surprised that it cannot push past 0.8890 - 0.8900. Is it a bad idea to short between the two holidays?

When it is sitting between 2 MAs not many professional traders want to trade it, I set price alerts near the MA otherwise it's not a worth while trade.

I agree, it is better to wait it out. Otherwise we'd just lose money.

Best to wait for more volatility unless your scalping 10-20 pips ,no clear direction at the moment, just noise.
