It's nice to see someone else who thinks like me and understands, human beings do make mistakes but what is unusual here is Dougs honesty in telling people exactly what happened. Personally, I thought he did it on purpose because some USD news was due out which could have pushed it either way. Anyway now we know was a tech problem which can happen. Nobody is perfect and mistakes can happen.

So I suggest all the saints here who never make mistakes stop posting crap - the guy admitted the fault, resolved it....and we should now be back on the journey to profit.

You'll recover your loss hopefully with the next two or three trades we get.

These things happen. And very little (nothing) can be done afterwards except just one thing:
Please make sure that your VPS provider does not apply any upgrade when there are open trades.

I'm sure we will recover very soon with your consisten VTP system.

Well this upgrade was a one time thing won't happen again it actually was actually done to speed up the delivery of trades by increasing server ram , processor speed, etc. etc.

Mine too.

I have closed my mt4 for the next 24hrs until things return to normal.

just closed the gbpusd trade (copier)

how will the EURO/Greece upcoming crisis affect vortex?

will the eur/usd be switched off?

is there are need to worry/be cautious - we saw what happened to the USD/CHF a few weeks ago

Very concerning as this move of VPS still doesn't explain why customers had the trade close in loss whilst it stayed open until break even in Doug's account.

For customers to receive, and act upon, a close signal there must have been a master trade closed. As the same trade we see in myfxbook was definitely not closed until break even that suggests to me that what we see here isn't really the source account for the VTP trades we receive our copies from.

I think we found here an BUG inthe EA would we use - i looks that if we lost the connection to the SQL server the trades will be closed.. may Doug can check that ?

For me is very strange that this sistem hit sl only 2 times,but in last 10 days we were 2 times in huge dd(a few pips away from sl).I am following vortex for 10 days,so this is strange ,maybe very strange

Makes complete sense to me. Markets go through periods of volatility/instability before returning to more predictable patterns. Vortex has encountered these before, and Doug has created a system with enough buffer to survive 'most' of them keeping a safe risk/reward ratio with his high % of winning trades.

If any one loss and DD period gives someone heart burn then they are running too high a risk. The old adage rings true: Trading is a Marathon, not a sprint. I personally am running 0.25 lots per $10K. I have more than one EA on my account and this level of risk/return fits appropriate for my portfolio.

As I explained above, you can select to use Trade Copier to copy all trades from Doug's account to your account directly, and so, you will have same results (Win is win, and Loss is loss). Or you can select to use VTP EA and if so, you have to set up everything in the Settings of VTP EA by yourself. You also have to turn on / off VTP EA during Big news events by yourself.

By the way, I want to share my bitter experience with Hotforex yesterday with all of you here, so that you should try to select reliable forex brokers to protect your profits.

My bitter experiences yesterday were as follows:

Before the Non-farm payroll news came out, My equity was at 1,317 usd. I placed Pending Sells on EURUSD and XAUUSD, and Pending Buy on USDJPY. I placed these pending orders 5 minutes before the News.

When the Non-farm payroll news came out, and it was good as I expected, all my pending Sells and Buys were triggered at BIG DIFFERENCES in Pips. You can see all my trades triggered at big pip differences from my attached files.

1. My Pending sells on EURUSD were at: 1.11750 and 1.11700, but they were triggered at 1.11551, which were 14.9 pips and 19.9 pip differences.

2. My pending sell on XAUUSD were at: 1169, but it was triggered at 1166.63, and this is 237 pips difference = 2.37 usd price difference.

3. My pending Buy on USDJPY were at: 125.10 and 125.15, but they were triggered at 125.287, which were 13.7 pips and 18.7 pips differences.

Well, if we place orders manually during the news is released, all brokers can widen spreads, and this is normal, and we all know about tricky and dirty things of most brokers. Even when the brokers widen the spreads, on eurusd, and usdjpy, the widened spread can be like 5 pips or 6 pips maximum. And on XAUUSD, spread can be widened to 50 cents to 70 cents maximum.

But here, I say about Pending orders which we placed well in advance before the news comes out, so, the brokers must honor such prices on pending orders if the pending orders are triggered.

So, when I made profits, it was not much enough for me to close the orders, and I had to be in market. At peak, I saw my equity grew up to 1,786 usd, and I tried to close orders, but I saw it asked me to wait for SERVER ....bla.bla.bla. This s we can the broker FREEZED the price and did not let me close orders.

Imagine when I closed orders, because of price freezing, the prices / profits I could close were around 20 pips lower than when I closed the orders. Wow, you can see that the triggered prices were BIG PIP DIFFERENCE, and even when I closed the orders, The profits were reduced up to 20 pips less than they actually were.

So far, I had traded with FXDD, INTERBANKFXX, etc, and now, HOTFOREX, but I can say that this is the first time I got these problems which we can SO BAD PRICE MANIPULATION. But Hotforex is said to be STP / ECN Broker?

I doubt most MT4 Brokers are real HONEST as they claim them to be so.

Well, because I got very nervous, angry, and upset, a lot of un-explainable feelings and bad trading pschychology came out to my mind, and I decided to take REVENGE by placing Buy on USDCAD with 2 trades of 0.5 lot = 1 lot totally, and even I made good profits, I decided not to close them.

Instead, I let them be, and began to chat with live chat of hotforex, and complain them about above issue. So, I did not focus on trading anymore, but instead, I chatted with them, and took screenshot from the Journal to send file attachment to them via email.

When I finished my above job with Hotforex, I saw my buy on usdcad were hit STOP LOSS for big loss of 747 usd (2 trades x 0.5 lot per trade).
My account is now at 597 usd only. Of course, from my initial deposit of 345 usd 2 weeks ago, I still made 252 usd net profit up to now.

What I want to share my bitter experiences with all of you are:

1. Select and test to find out how good and reliable the broker is. This can only be done during big news time.

2. When any of you face the similar problems about price manipulation above, DO NOT PLACE ANY NEW ORDERS TO TAKE REVENGE because at that moment, your mind is out of control, and you can not see the market as well as nornmal.

3. Close all orders completely and do not trade anymore before you start to chat or complain to the brokers. Or you can not focus on trading and you will most likely lose.

I will wait for Hotforex people to respond to me next week and compensate for all the differences of pips they did to my account, and then, I will use this account with VTP EA trading alone. I swear that I will not trade manually with Hotforex anymore.

I am looking for some really good and honest brokers to do manual trading, and will open another account with them to trade manually. Anyone can suggest to me? How about IC MARKETS, FXCHOICE, ETC ? I want to have at least 1:500 leverage level to trade with higher lot size.

The reason why I do not want to close account with Hotforex completely because I opened account under my close friend's IB Link. I want to let him enjoy referral commission. So, I trust VTP EA and want to take revenge by making consistent profits every month, even much lower from Hotforex by using VTP EA.

From all commercial forex robots, I trust VTP EA the most. I noticed whenever it entered a trade so far, and from my trading experience, I see it can make us monthly profits consistently if we USE FIXED LOT SIZE, and DO NOT SET UP HIGH RISK / HIGH LOT SIZE to enjoy High win rate % from VTP EA.

By the way, do not trade with Octafx and Youtradefx.com because they are also bad brokers. One of my very close friend who is HEAVY SCALPER and made more than 900,000 usd from his initial deposit of 10k usd within 1 month of trading from Youtradefx in 2013, but they claimed to my friend that because my friend got IN / OUT of a trade within 1 minute so frequently and heavily and they could not liquidate such orders? If they could not liquidate my friend's orders with Liquidity banks, why they did not stop those orders but still let all my friend's orders GET IN AND OUT for 1 month?

My friend always went ALL IN (which means with 10k usd account, my friend placed 9.9 lots, and when account grew to 20k, my friend placed 19.9 lots, etc). I believe Youtradefx thought that with my friend's HIGHEST RISK OF TRADING LIKE THIS, my friend's account would be burnt at anytime. But finally, it did not burn out, but made huge profits, and when my friend withdrew money, they rejected, and only returned initial deposit of 10k usd to my friend.

Octafx is as bad as Youtradefx.

It's not easy to make money from forex when there are so many bad forex brokers. So, when making good profits, we should think of withdrawing them regularly, and open several accounts with several brokers to avoid notice from bad brokers.

This is not trading.Its pure gambling.Why not ask your friend to go to a casino and play russian roulette.He can earn more there than in forex with his 10k deposit.Coming to the slippage,I had more slippage in fxopen ecn with my pending orders than in hotforex.Brokers cannot do anything about it.Hotforex is comparitively way better than other brokers in terms of execution speed and slippage.Forex is not the place for opening 1 lot on 1000 usd account.Its incredibly risky.Trust me, its better to play casino or betting on your favourite team than trading higher lots on a small account.You have more probability of winning there.Octafx have that in their terms.If order is closed in less than a minute,they have every right to cancel it.You agree to their terms and sign a contract note with them.Whats the point of complaining now?

Sorry to read these horror stories about these brokers that were not initially selected by Doug Price...
However he gave us a choice of brokers to invest with when we got in with the VTP
I am sure he has done his research in order to make sure his strategies are profitable...
Let's stick to these brokers and let's focus on what VTP can offer us with these brokers selected by Doug.

What are the list of brokers? I'm using Tradersway and ATC Brokers are those both any good?

You are not pro trader. How can you say it is gambling?

Can you trade in and out of any trades within 1 minutes with highest lot sizes, and always make money even over hundred trades in few hours?

My friend used 1 minute timeframe, and trade gold (more risky than forex because prices are unpredictable than forex), and he always won until no brokers allowed him to trade.

You should learn more about trading forex and gold to become more professional.

I have seen many great traders' account histories, and their live account results are SO MUCH AMAZING THAT all of us will think they are too good to be true, but they are all true.
