Hi Alas, i am using many EAs (and many other now are in the recycle bin). I prefer to not go OT and to not speak here of EAs other than Keltner. I am posting with other old friends on babypips about EAs (you can join our discussions there) or u can PM me. Mostly i am running Breakouts and scalpers, all with good forward tests and good BT results. The only thing i do not like is that i am too exposed on BOs, so i need volatile markets and in calm markets i will suffer. DD i mean Drawdown. It vary based on the lotsize u use. I think is better to not go beyong 0.02 each 1k. Of course u can risk more, but the DD will be higher and so in bad periods, which happens of course, psycologically will be harder to keep the due confidence

Keltner is one of the few good longterm strategies out there. Specially on EU , and on GU is not bad at all. But people looks for holy grails, for EAs which never fails: if u see an equity curve too straight, or is a martigrid (and it will blown ur account) or is curve fitted, and this is even more dangerius. Every valid startegy has his DD periods: u need confidence and proper money managment: people does not have confidence, because don't know how to correctly evaluate staretgies and so run an EA, it start to lose and they stop it; then the EA recover (but they are out) and they jump in ...

Simply go to their website; i also suggest you to use some discount available on many affiliates sites (up to 20%), or asl for some direct discount to Jared (i never buy an EA without asking a discount and sometimes had very good prices)

On my previous post i have made a mistake: the stats were referred at Keltner all pairs, so also including the EURUSD losses (but anyway the stats shows a gain). Attached my stats on Keltner only GU

Yes, i saw these losses on the ref account and also on other accounts. I run many accounts on many brokers with many EAs and yesterady at 10:00 PM (end of British elections) i was carefully watching the various brokers behaviour and noted that some of them (Ic Markets for example) stopped completely the feed for some minutes. So on these brokers Keltner entered too late imo. Don't know about Synergy since i do not have any accounts with them. Anyway on my Activtrades account yesterday i have earned from Keltner: 1 trade in loss and 3 trades closed in gain. But to be honest i have managed t...

Yes, there are many EA for which Bts are unusefull. Infact, once BTed you have to compare trades from the Bt with trades triggered on a real account and then take your conclusions. As for Monetizer there is a very good match rate; for Keltner PRO i have checked at the time i have finished the BT and it was good too. Once finished with curretn BTs will run again the BT on Keltner on all pairs from 2004. Anyway i think the problem about Keltner is that the vendor uses a too high risk. I have already BTed Monetizer and Forex growth Bot. Currently BTing Fe Combination, which has a "Vola" strategy, and Forex real Profit Strategy 5 breakout on EURUSD. These are hihgly protected eas so i will need many weeks to complete the BTs. I expect the max DD and stagnation period also for these during the end of 2005 up the middle to 2007. Anyway let's wait for the results

I use only Tick datas for my BTs. Currently BTing other breakout strategy and i expect to see the longest stagnation period also on These from th end of 2005 up to 2006

Long term BT from 2004 shows on EURUSD a max stagnation period of 835 days with a max DD of 35%. Anyway stats shows that only 2006 closes with 122 pips loss and 2007 with 111 pips gain. So the longer stagnation period was from the end of 2005 till 2007. I personally think that the current DD on EU is normal and that the strategy will conrinue to work. On GBPUSD currently is working nicely, but BTs are not good as on EU

Monetizer recovered from the bad winner period. Good performnace and up to now one of my best performer ea. Seems to be a very good ea, conformed by Both good Backtests results and good forward test. Also the good risk/reward ratio helps a lot. But it should be runned only in Eurusd, on other pairs seems to be not suited.

Absolutely right; when u have to choose the lotsize u must check the stop loss value and evaluate how much money u are confortable to risk at each trade. Money managment rules followed by vendors are usually not suitable for the average trader, because they usually uses high risk to attract buyers.

Attached a tick data BT for GBPUSD with the EURUSD sf (spread 1.5 pips). Clearly the sf need optimization. Have also runned a BT for AUDJPY but results are very bad. It is impossible to think that a sf created for EURUSD will work on all so different pairs, including the JPY ones

Started an optimization of some parameters on GBPUSD from January 2014 only and then will see results of the optimized parameters from 2009. Unfortunately optimization will need a lot of time, also if for the moment i am only optimizing 4 parameters. Let see what happens
