Users who purchased REV for the past few months are all suffering from the recent DD, and we all loss a bunch, let alone earn back the purchase price.We should not be tempted to buy another EA just to hope that the new EA will earn us back our money.We should vote to ask Doug to incorporate VTP into the current REV, and this decision cannot be decided by just a few individuals.I personally advocate having the VTP logic built into REV, and we can switch on and off this logic, so we can have a chance to earn back our $$. At least this is what the vendor can do to help us out of the losing hole, ...

I already posted that the EA had a DD of 40% just on AUDUSD trading 3 orders at 3% risk.If you set more than 3%, it would be more.Question is we don't know when the other pairs will go into DD together, and that would blow the account.The CHF event proved the point. So you have to decide if you want to set the risk more than 3% and trade 3 orders.Good luck.

Recently there have been a lot of discussions here, seems to me most are from non users who do not have first hand experience on the system.You are welcome to comment and discuss on the system, but if you don't have any first hand experience, I hope you can leave the guessing to simple guesses and do not expand on something out of imagination. I switched off my live account on Dec 22 and did not open it until Dec 29 (Sunday) 4 pm so as to avoid Xmas thin trading.I am using FinFx ECN account.Then suddenly I had a NZD trade right at the open at 5 pm EST.I then had 2 more NZD trades opened thereafter. All 3 trades had very bad fills.Then I heard from the discussion forum about the NZD trade stuff, and I suspect that these trades were assigned to me no matter what. I also saw the market kept on rising, so I manually closed these 3 trades and had big losses.I wrote to Dough but he did not answer my email, so i post my trades here for you...

The vendor did not update the trade on MyFxbook after the market closed on Friday, so the NZDUSD trade appeared to be still open, actually it was closed 30 minutes before the market closed. The vendor shuts down the server over the weekend, so if you try to initialize the EA, it won't work until Sunday 5 pm EST. I wrote to the vendor before and he confirmed this. If you trade FX regularly, you should not open trades during Xmas or important holidays like this, you are asking for trouble.I shut down all EAs and shut down all live accounts on 22nd, so I avoided the losing NZDUSD trade. As discussed before, the back tests show that the EA performed poorly in the first 2 months of the year.Last time Steve suggested that we switch off Dec 19. In hindsight, we should do it 1 week earlier! I am redoing the test with 1 and 2 filter on and see. I also switched off yesterday and wont restart live trading until mid Feb or March 1, unless the new tests show me otherwise.I therefore will change to demo account mode with the 3 settings and see which one works out best.I guess this makes sense since the EA relies on break out momentum, this time of the year trading is thin and not much f...

That's why you need the back test.The EA is overall quite profitable (based on back test), but it has a 11 consecutive losing trades (16 if you ignore a small profitable trade in between).It is a 29% draw down on my test account. This is with money management on, in my case, 8% risk.With 5% risk combined DD is around 26%. Hi SteveYour comments are really helpful, and I learn more from the discussion forum on the EA than the manual!Now that Jared will update the manual on this important missing link is great. He is the developer and we don't know the actual PnL footprint unless he discloses. Thanks for your advise. I will stick to 6% for GBPUSD and 5% for the others, while dropping USDCHF or simply give it a 3%. Could Jared comment on the USDCHF, it seems to underperform the other 3 ?Matthew

I agree, 8% is high risk, but low compared to the vendor's.If back test really gives 90% confidence level, a 8% risk will put the back test results into 25% portfolio DD at one point.A 6%$ risk is roughly 20% portfolio DD.So depending on your risk appetite, you should adjust your risk factor. I also notice that USDCHF is not performing well amongst the 4, so I plan to lower the risk of USDCHF to 5%, and turn on the Entry_Filter for this pair to further limit DD.Another plan that I may implement : have a second account of $2,000 and set a 8% risk. I have test run it since Oct 19, and so far all trades match those of the vendor, the results are so far very good, comparable to what the vendor claims. I use a 8% risk and not the large lot size that the vendor uses. My FinFx demo account started with $2,000. Today it is $2,833.79, and I missed a few profitable trades last Friday.Hope the vendor can keep up the good work, and continue to make this a profitable EA.I plan to go live next month. I purchased the EA last Sat and loaded the default set files, then I also changed the settings for each pair according to the Important Update notes.Yesterday there was no trade at all, although the vendor showed a short EURUSD trade and had a small gain.I am using FinFX ECN demo account to test the EA.
