If your performance is consistent you want to leave it in as long as possible to get the benefit of compounding.

If you're new or your equity is all over the place you want to with draw as often as possible to minimize risk. Try get the start-up capital out as quickly as possible, then the portfolio becomes risk free.

@Elkart:That's what i'm thinking too. I also new trader that only have minimal balance so as soon I get my profit, I withdraw it so I can get my initial deposit back to minimizing 'greedy' and 'emotion' away when trend go crazy 😄
But i would keep some profit so i can get enough margin when I need some resistance when I hold some floating position.

I prefer weekly withdraw than monthly because i can easily control my balance.

withdrawing your initial deposit after doubling the account is a great idea,
however i wouldnt say you minimize your greed with that. you will pay more attention if its your own money, than 'just some trading profits'.

i agree with to_ul. Consistent small profit for long term is more important than one big profit trade. Consistency that proves that our strategy was sustainable on every market movement.

my advice is to withdraw your winners every time you win because you can have money one day and loose it all the next day

This is also psychological. You may think it is better to hold on your funds until you have made some considerable gains, but some people lose it all back to the markets, therefore, for some it is better to withdraw everytime you win like Africa134 said, but for others it is better to withdraw monthly, or quarterly.

@Moneymanagement
I would say withdraw 50% of the profit each month. Keep the rest on account to grow.

I would extend a little @togr theory. Firstly, take out every profit till profit=deposit . Then, just like Togr said, 50% profit of every trade.

Best period to withdraw, is whenever the f*** You want !

Its your business and your rules., but you need to stay responsible and spend money that could be used for growth on something stupid.

Not to be absolutely condescending, but if you have to ask that question, you should have already withdrawn your money.
The market will go up, failing which, it will go down.
