Ok. Does anyone know how to try to get the funds back using the FCA ?
First point of contact I would ring and speak to someone in either the FCA or the Ombudsman

They will tell you exactly what to do.

I've registered with a lot of brokers over the years, I've lost count but it's well over 50. I'm getting emails from some brokers that I really wouldn't have put into the good category telling me how well they've coped with this week, how they are zeroing negative accounts and how they are honouring all accounts that made good profits. Weird.
Best regards Steve

if a broker is insolvent, what happens to the money on the client accounts??
Depends where they are regulated, in Alpari's case they have to hold retail client deposits in separate accounts as per FCA guidelines. Best regards Steve

You are all running after widely promoted expensive brands. You believe that the regulation of the US or other will save you. Know that promoted brokers pay to regulators, it is a payment for a dishonest way of doing business. I have been realized a long time ago that the new large companies are more concerned about their reputation and the customer always get their money
There can't be enough money

As far as I know FXCM haven't gone insolvent, they're currently after $200 million from Jefferies group.
