Can you consistently make a profit of USD2000 on a USD5000 account?

Why do you need to make 40% return anyway? A 10% monthly return compounded will double your capital over about nine months. If you can afford to leave your capital in, starting with $5000 in five years you would have over a million in your account.

There is far too much short term thinking in forex, which is what generally leads to people taking unnecessary risks. I would focus on getting a winning strategy that looks good over several years and just keep on top of it.

My guess is that you are asking because you want to know if you can earn a living from your savings?

I would say not, in my experience if you are relying on the money to pay the bills you will make poor judgments. It's far better and generally recommended to trade with capital that you do not need and can afford to lose.

Yes, indeed. All the parameters of this strategy look EXCELLENT, probably it is one of the best strategies on MyFxBook. Almost 'too good to be true', which is why I would be a little bit suspicious, as there are brokers which falsify results on MyFxBook to get new clients on board. Are you a subscriber of it?

I have 6000 USD and 560 USD investments, and i earn only 5% of profit every month. I have 7 years of experience in trading forex. I have never seen trading system that give more than 8% of profit every month and keep your money in safety for years.
If you want get more profit, you have to look for other business, week ago I found one trading business that give me 10-40% of profit every month, but its not forex.

there is a system that can get consistent profit about 10% per month, more than that is almost impossible, but of course you can get 1000% profit permonth, but unfortunately most of the strategy high profit usually will get you margin call :)!

my suggestion is find that methods and you'll be safe in forex biz ;) cause that strategy will not make you loose,! but you'll not rich either :)

I subscribed to keep an eye on it's performance. The thing is I don't trade using mechanical systems and honestly I don't think I ever will. I trade price action strategies.

i have my own private system, and im sure many have and will never sell those and mostlikely they will hide certain things from myfxbook;s public.

i earn 20-25% month with a low dd of 6%, average dd month = 3% for over 3 years already.
but again, why would i share it? knowing that I can do it, is already hard enough... i would guess. and i feel no need to prove it.

currently busy with an ea for the retail market, its a lite version of my own private one, but should get same dd, but a lower monthly gain of 5-10% without losing months. ( to follow my future projects, subscribe @ hansbowlesfx.com , end of the year you will get a msg from me )

currently testing it with a small 2K account using 0.01 lot size. but trust me a license will be 5 figures. which all partially be donated to certain charity organisations to the people in the world who are not us lucky as us being able to 'play' with 'money'.

My system makes up to 30%/montly, but lower as 20% DD is not possible all time.
It is make more DD or to mutch win, than I will make a correcture in the autooptimizing parameters and in the next time the DD will by lower. The account money has to be safe.
Every accountlevel has another parameters and the parameters changes latest every 4 hours.

Think of it like this, if I (hypothetically) had a winning system and then shared it with the world so that everyone and their mom starts using it - guess what?!

It simply won't work any more.

My advice to anyone struggling out there - try out different strategies, then mix and match parts of your favorites until you find a winning combination that works for you and your trading style.

Its hard work and its not 100% guaranteed you will find success, but if you have at good degree of analytical skill and some serious determination and discipline, you should be able to create a profitable system of your own.

Are consistently high monthly gains possible - yes.
Are you going to find that system online or in a book - no.
