My opinion would be the MT4 platform because it is easy to trade, and my broker FP markets are good for scalping. The MT4 is suitable mainly for forex trading.

I recommend trading with MT4 for beginners because it is mostly used for forex trading, and compared to any other platform, the MT4 is easier to use and learn.

MT4 it is what everyone uses.

I agree with @Bradley, MT4 is good to start with. I am using it for more than a year now with turnkeyforex. Low spreads and commissions, good client support and easy to use trading tools for beginners. You can practice on their demo account until you become confident with real market conditions.

From my perspective, one of the best platforms for the newcomers is MT4.
There are so many brokers which provide its clients with their own terminals which can be really good, but they are all different. So, if you want to change the broker, you'll have to get used to the new trading platform which will take some time and efforts. MT4 is a kind of invariant. The vast majority of brokers work with the MT4 platform, so, if you want to change the broker, you'll hardly feel any difference as the main trading tool will remain.

Mt4 is not the best platform (far from it) but it is the most popular so there is lots of help, examples and almost all brokers provide it so for these reasons I recommend it

Considering that you’re a newbie, I would suggest you to give a try to MT4 as it is very user friendly and my personal favourite. MT5 is also great but you can start with the MT4 first.

I use the MT4 platform as of now for forex trading since it is suitable for scalping, and with FP Markets tight spreads and lower slippage, I'm able to make a decent amount of profit with the MT4 platform.

I personally prefer MT4 even though MT5 is available. It’s easy to use and there are plenty of tutorials online, especially on YouTube. It’s also one of the most widely available and popular platforms out there.
