His trades work fine for now. This portfolio is taking the same if not less risk than he does on every trade. Look at the difference in growth.

It's not what you make, it's how much risk you take making it. If the risks are to high for the return then ultimately the portfolio will fail. No matter how good it looks for a while.

Bruce thinks he is the greatest trader in the world and says so every trade. I mean what kind of trader gets a high when he makes like 0.5%?!

Fact is his risks are disproportionate to his gains. He doesn't even know it. Now he wants to teach people. He'll ruin trading careers and charge money for it. He plagiarises other peoples work as a matter of course and can't even come up with his own levels. Then he says he trades fundamentally but ends up scalping counter trend. All his posts have one purpose and one purpose only, that's to put money in his pocket, not through trading, but through taking advantage of other people. That is not acceptable, not only to me, put to a lot of people, which is why he gets so much flack. How many forums has been banned from now?

Why do think it is he never shows a coherent history ?

This portfolio will have to take a break, I'm flying out this week and there's no civilisation where I'm heading to, be back in a few months, then I can pick it up if I feel like it, but I don't really see the point. My focus is O and the API, I can't get those results here, so there isn't much point really in having a fxbook account. Which is why I deleted my old account, but I just had to put things into perspective for Bruce. Just give him a bench mark at which he can proclaim himself a trading god.

I'm a terrible trader. This DD was my fault, getting greedy and cocky again. Taking risks I shouldn't. But I am a hell of a lot better than Bruce.

I'll probably trade this account slowly when I get back, like once day till it's $500 or so then close the account. Put it in Oanda rather where it can grow better. To run at this pace I have to spend a lot of time in front of the screen. Those days are over for me, I've done my staring. I have my black box and I'm not really interested in spending more time on the net. Rather go sit on the beach in paradise, that's why I did all of this in the first place, it's time to get my reward for all the work...

For the most part I am going to disappear off the face of the earth from this week on. Tired of forums, fx and everything in general. Especially tired of the Bruce's of the world who will do anything they can at any cost to others to turn a buck.

I'll be back just long enough in 2 months to flog my last few remaining hand cuffs, read possessions. Then I'm off again.

API can take care of business. I'm going to go sit in a grass hut next to the sea with my exotic Asian girl and wait for the surf to pick up.

You can carry on ranting about my book and Bruce can continue his con, I'm going to enjoy the view and have some well deserved tranquillity, peace and quiet.

Farewell, Elkart. It's been fun - and everyone can be thankful - some for the giggle, some because you opened their eyes and debunked a dangerous, sneaky old hustler. Well, at last Bruce admitted he's 'a professional con artist/scammer/lowlife/pedophile/pervert/ugly/fat.toothless/senile/bald/fat LUZR'. Even Bruce could be thankful (in a way), because you devoted so much attention, time and emotion to him. More than a good friend and a first class lover in one person. 😄

I imagine you're busy preparing for the trip ... or already waiting for the taxi ... a big yellow one maybe.

I'm actually waiting for tickets, which are conspicuous by their absence...might be a slight delay in my departure here...

Zero,

Had the same handle on O since 2004. I'm not in the habit of changing handles. Unlike some other people, follow my eyes...

But I spent the last decade or so on fx and code and I want a better quality life that than. Not going to spend my entire life staring at a screen.

We're done and it's time for a change of scenery now.

Sorry for interrupting your discussion but your last comment caught my eye.

Are you planning to stop trading fx as you've exhausted all possibilities? Or did you find the hold grail?

Don't know if I found a holy grail Wilkinson. I'm a bit more realistic about fx trading. So I wasn't really looking for a holy grail.

I'm just comfortable we have something that I can build a future around that will work most of the time. Hate to quit the day job and have the fx fail at the same time. That would just suck.

We automated via O's API and now my sole task as far as fx is concerned is to look once a day to make sure it's on. And that we haven't been kicked out by our hard stops if something does go wrong.

Look this methodology does fail.

Friday's knock was a failure, not catastrophic, but very unusual. First in 6 months. All my portfolio's drew down, this one hardest hit. Considering market conditions I'm not to fussed. I'm not trying to write systems for Tsunami's and Arab unrest.

So the systems are not designed to work in everything. We manage that type of risk outside the system. If we have a failure like this we kick out and go surf or something, come back in a week when normal is back.

We have yet to kick out...

You know what works most of the time? Property. People have to live somewhere. People want to spend their holidays somewhere. People want to run their business somewhere. If you have property and have a little luck with the tenants, you don't have to worry about a thing.

Why do you have this strong opposition against bible wavers and religion in general? It's hard not to notice that you sort of lose your rag everytime it appears. In my experience they're harmless folks, sometimes even funny, like those jehovah witnesses visiting the neighborhood once a month.

Tjaarus Speki,

Property is almost the worst of them all. Look at this train smash that's going to unfold:

https://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/foreclosuregate

Oil price will be the trigger. I don't think it's ever been better to own property that it's been to own shares in a company that owns property, at least if you need to liquidate you can do it in second.

Some of my friends had up to 60 properties going into this fiasco. Should have seen them sweat blood mate.

As for the bible wavers. It's the sheer arrogance they have, like all religious believes, that just because they have a god that I must have the same one. Both Christianity and Islam spread at the point of the sword. And most christians will try save you whether you want to be saved or not.

Some of us chose not to have gods, and christians can't respect that, but we are expected to respect their believe system. Practically none of them go the hassle to actually find out where their religions come from. For example, Easter and Christmas are pagan holidays. There are no original Christian holidays. None, not even one. The cult of Bacchus (which was worshipped with drunken orgies) was incorporated into early Catholicism, you know, body of christ...

And it's from that perspective, which is one of complete ignorance, that a bible waver will try convert you. They have no clue what they're waving around. The Bible is just propaganda really.

What about all the books that's been left out of the bible? Mary, Judas and the Gnostic teachings. Early Christianity was gnostic. Not only that there were competing Messiahs !! About 6 or so around the time of Christ.

All of this is well documented, but not spoken about, as it doesn't suit the agenda of organised religion.

I simply can't stand the blind ignorant faith that will convert you at gun point if it has to. I hysterical bible waving Christian represent the worst in humanity to me. Can't find a more dangerous human being. That's what had us stuck in the dark ages for a thousand years...

If I really wanted to stir I'd go stick up a pentagram or a Buddha in there, you see how strong they react. Be the same thing as how I'm reacting. I am offended by their religious believes, just like mine will offend them. I don't do it, but they are quite happy and feel entitled to do it.

But somehow it's ok for them to waves theirs in my face, but the other way is just wrong. Know why? Because they are judea christian's and tolerance is not part of the religion.

Wot is Tjaarus? I found one Youtube user with this name but nothing else really. Could be a dutch / afrikaans word? Ikk haab datt woort nitt verstanden. LOL

Hmm, interesting... Competing Messiahs ... I have to read more and smarten myself up about history and religions, that's sure.
I haven't noticed Christians trying to convert me - but I noticed they're sort of happy-go-lucky. Maybe we met different people - you met the agressive converters and me, the peaceful ones.

A couple of songs come to mind ... first I thought I'd post 'God is a DJ', but I like this one better ... nice tune from ... FAITHLESS 😁

That's South African slang...

Speki, ja, depends where you live hey... I have a serious problem with organised religion in general. All of them. Time the human race moved on... every time you have holy war it's in the name of a god.

Millions if not hundreds of millions have died over the centuries in whatever gods name...

Certainly if there is a god it's not really interested in us more than we would be in say an ant. Why would an all omnipotent god need buildings and money ? People need that...

Well, for this one the conditions that will make it fail only exists for short periods of time. So best to just get out for a while. Been a rough week hey, with Japan and so on. Rough as it gets actually. Can't have a bigger black swan that that...

The portfolio that counts only drew down a few percent.

So I'm happy with it.
