average gains of 20-30 pips with holding times of up to a week indicate he is using no or extreme stop losses and waiting for price to return in his favour.Equity has previously dropped as low as 38%2 big red X's in my opinion, definately not a suitable investment.

the above comment is a very possible scenario and i would not put it past some brokers. However looking at the results they do seem possible but far from sustainable, targeting 10 pips and having a stop loss of 150 pips could very well do an account wonders for a couple months until at some stage price moves greatly against him triggering his 150 pips stop thus he re-enters with a larger position size out with the intent of making back his 150 pips loss which only moves against him further resulting in margin call, he closes 1 trade at a loss to give the impression he knows how to cut losses wh...

Mmmm Interesting topic here :)firstly I'd agree with Steve, you can have a high return, low risk strategy if you know your numbers and your "edge"By that i mean you know the probablities of your trade setups, Good reward to risk ratio, you know your win ratio and your average Loss/Gain.and to answer your question genie, yes doubling your account in a month several months in a row is very much achievable however it is in no way at all sustainable, sustainability is one of the most important aspects of trading, it ensures a long and successful career as a trader.Lee J Brown

Hi Elkart.Thank you for your response, although i do understand your point of DD in relaton to return P.A i personally still believe 10%+ DD is unacceptable especially in a managed account although as with many things a small amount of flexability should be allowed in certain circumstances. What is your opinion on automated versus manual trading?I personally would never take an automated approach to trading nor would i deem any kind of automated system credible but i would again like to hear other opinions on this.Best regardsLee J Brown

Hi everybody. After taking an in depth look at a majority of the systems here i have come to a personal conclusion that most of them are absolute junk.My criteria for a junk system is any one of the following:- a drawdown of more than 10%- a system that is traded without a stop loss or large negative floats- a system where the trading history is hiddenNow i would like to ask for your opinions on what comprises a junk system?Do you agree with the above? Is there anything you would add?Any replies will be greatly apreciated and i believe will benefit all users of the site when sourcing the junk fr...

Hi lazyinvestor.I now have almost 4 years experience trading forex, however as im sure many can appreciate there is a rather steep learning curve and there is much trial and error. My primary account which i have traded for several years now shows some rather large drawdowns and lack of discipline in my earlier years which for obvious reasons i would not like to make public.Instead i have now started a new sub-account which i am displaying to the general public in order to give an accurate analysis of my CURRENT trading ability without the burden of past trading errors. The only way to analyse a...
