Hi Ethan, if it is not too much to ask, could you please list out the brokers here which are blocking your servers and which aren't? Maybe then we could all make a switch to the brokers who are not blocking access to autoupdate. I would seriously take my business to the brokers that are offering access to autoupdate on myfxbook and I'm sure many people would follow suit.

Plus. Again. Im using MyFX with 3 differend Brokers, all Build 500 and have NO probs. with ftp auto update..

Problem is that this is not broker related. Brokers use the MT4 platform which is supplied by MetaQuotes - we are being blocked without the broker's knowledge or permission.
In any case, we're checking with a few large brokers for a custom solution which may resolve this.

I just wanted to say Thank You to Ethan and the myfxbook team for giving this their full attention. I have no doubts that you guys are just as frustrated by all this as the users that are experiencing problems.
The fact that we have access to your service with no fees is a blessing. For all those that are trying to crap on myfxbook for this issue I just have to say "grow up". You guys are not paying for this service and in turn to accuse them of trying to cut corners to save money is just silly. If you are not happy with the service you are being given for free, by all means stop using it.

Totally agree!
Myfxbook is not the only one having problems with new "functionality" introduced by MetaQuotes without a warning.
And there has always been the workaround to use their EA.
But there is no better service than this, so stopping to use it is not an option for many.

My Sunbird account updated initially but hasn't for a couple of days now. My AAAFx, FXCM and FXDD accounts haven't and they are all on build 500. Alpari is updating, but it's on build 482.

That is very bad, because a lot of brokers deletes history older than a certain period, so I would lose a whole lot of information. Is it not possible to make the EA publisher continue on an old account.

I read the translated version and it makes little sense to me. How is myfxbook using illegal protocol? Is MQ even providing a legal protocol for myfxbook to use? Why not just tell myfxbook what they have to do to comply (be it a license fee or whatever) and this can be resolved.
EDIT:Just cause a user posts and calls myfxbook liars and cheaters in a forum does not make it fact.

All services that use the compromised network protocols are blocked. This applies ZuluTrade, Tradency, Tradeo and a number of other companies. All of them use illegal methods of connectivity and in direct violation of our rights and license to use the platforms.

Yes, you can use the EA. I was referring to the FTP publisher.
We've removed the need to click 'switch to EA' option - just run the EA and it will pick up the account.

I wouldn't say that "hacked".
Maybe reverse-engineered is a better word.
When MT4 was lauched security was not a concern at any level in their product line.
If you want to connect directly to any MT4 server you can do it just buying (or inventing your own) such reverse-engineered solution.
For us customers this is very convenient because we don't have to do anything and it just works!

If MetaQuotes would publish an official API to access MT4 servers legally we would not be in this situation at all.
And lets hope that they will publish API access for MT4 servers soon!

As far as we're aware, we did not hack anything. If they don't wish us to connect to accounts, that is their decision which we do respect. In any case they should offer an API just like cTrader are currently working on and other competing platforms, otherwise they will be losing clients.
