at first i was, it was impossible to open or close. Then i noticed when you open a ticket, there is an unusual box and condition to change the deviation. I have not seen this before, the frustration is having to change this every time i go in or out
So press F9 set up trade, and select box at bottom of ticket, and change the deviation to a number above 5 then buy/sell
also see contest discussion, jason has placed screenshots

Just noticed someone has posted a fix to this on another forum, basically what you just said but you can set the default level, just go to options>trade>set default deviation to 10, have never had the problem of off-quotes again :)

I'm from singapore and the word singapore is not inside the "select country " coloum.
therefore I cannot enter the contest. Can someone help?? or are Singaporean banned from entering this contest?

Hi Jambol,
Since we are not registered in Singapore, the regulators in Singapore do not allow us to open accounts for Singapore residents. Unfortunately, that's means you would not be eligible for the live account prizes from the contest.

I've wanted to open long position on EUR USD, and short on USD CAD this morning (GMT+1 time) and I was unable to do so without apparent reason. As I've discovered I need to specify slippage to have my order executed. It's quite uncool to get to know it after my trades are about 65 pips late... :<

Please help me. What is wrong with my order? I cannot execute it.
Hello miszczumario,
If you look at the journal entries, it indicates the order rejection occurred due to "Off-Quote". This indicates that by the time the order reached the system for execution, the current market price was outside the maximum deviation you specified for the order. The order will be rejected in this case. This can be caused if there is any latency in the internet connecting causing the order to arrive after the market price has changed or if you are sending orders during volatile market conditions when prices are changing rapidly. Not allowing any flexibility would increase the likelihood that the price has changed by the time your order arrives.
What you can do is increase the maximum deviation setting to 10 or 20 which would give you 1.0 - 2.0 pips of flexibility for market movement rather than having the order being rejected outright.
The default maximum deviation setting can be changed by navigating in MT4 to:
Tools -> Options -> Trade [TAB]
Set Deviation by default to XX pips.
