Beginner forex traders will be lucky if they break even, but experienced retail forex traders can make thousands and hundreds of thousand dollars in a single trade, depending on initial deposits and lots trades.
As a professional who have worked with various firms both in the US Asian and Europe, you can earn a up to 100k in salary per annum, this is excluding bonuses and performance fees. Trading contract with firm can make your salary be fixed, but trading for individual with large funds, you earn far more than what you earn trading for institutions, as you negotiate for percentage payments.

Pro FX traders don't think about daily profit. They think about monthly profit. FX markets are so different each day. Some days they lose other days they win. Only at the end of the month is it worth adding it all up
Correct. Winnings always exceed loses.

It depends on how much risk you're willing to take, usually a beginner starts with small trade based on his risk capacity. One of my fellow forex trader makes anywhere between $500 to $2,000 per day. However, this figure can vary significantly depending on market conditions.
