For making profit with great consistency we the traders have to depend on our trading strategies that we select according to our trading experience , in my trading career I always like to trade in long term trading style , but sometimes I use scalping approach due to getting profit very rapidly.

Scalping is only really an option if you have super low spreads and commissions
Yes, it’s important but trading strategy is the key here! Without a good trading system you can’t expect here such a consistent result.

Price action is the same on small and on larger time frames/charts and scalping is more or less depending from mentality and personality of the trader and it is strongly individual approach. I would not say that scalping is more risky then long term trades :)

Trading is always risky, especially when you don't know what you are doing. There are plenty of successful scalpers out there, but also a lot of people fail. It depends on the person.

Scalping is really profitable for all kinds of traders in particularly the traders who are newcomers. But in spite of a profitable trading policy scalping don’t allow by and large trading brokers in their trading platforms, so, we the traders who are particularly scalpers have to be careful when choosing a broker.

Scalping requires iron discipline, nerves of steel and quick reflexes I am not sure I agree with the idea that it's a suitable strategy for newcomers.

Scalping is not profitable to all. Only, when you have a good scalping system otherwise, it’ll be costly.

What will be costly? The system or the trading?

Now I do not trade on the scalping strategy, but this way of earning is quite inferior to the medium-term trade, because it depends on the volatility of the market. If the trade is based on a medium or long term analysis, the outcome will not depend on the volatility indicator and only the final goal of the forecast will be important.

There are plenty of people who claim they're successful when they scalp. I, personally, am not.

Scalping is good and has a number of favorable benefits:
(1) You are forced to keep your losses at a reasonable level by using fairly tight stops.
(2) If your trade is successful you receive an instant return, thus rewarding your efforts.
(3) You may often avoid a sudden “spike” in prices if the spread is increased since you are not holding a trade for any length of time.
I normally scalp 3-6 pips at a time. Consistency is the enemy ...
