Hello BlueMonkey,

is this your first EA or have you created others in the past or have another for sale right now?

Also, are you working on a new one or just improving this?

Sorry if someone else already asked this, but I'm not wiling to read 55 pages of coments...

Maurice,

I too am using 1:500 but I am only taking in 1/3 of the risk that BM is taking. My levels are at .03 on both pair but I have an account of 4500+. My SL was nowhere near being triggered and now I am seeing a decline in the pair.

Good luck 😄

Hello Atsie,

thank you very much for your reaction.

I think, that with your account of 4500+ you have much more room dealing with large drawdowns, although your lotsizes will be also bigger. It simply depends on the relation betwee the lotsize and the risklevel, i.d. stoploss level. With my account of 485,- euro's my room for drawdowns is supposedly more thight. When this forex stom again will happen, like last week with the EURGBP, I have to quit some trades, in order to diminish the drawdowns and avoiding being stopped out. When the trading goes well again, I will try a leverage of 1:400. Meanwhile I adjusted the lotsizes of both pairs to 0.02, providing the EA more flexibility to trade with lotsizes of 0.01 or more.

I am also interested to know how much profit expressed in % per week or month you made with your setup.

It is still difficult to find the right setup, because there are so many variables. For backtesting I have no time, the boys of BM should do this optimalisations.

I am happy to hear from you and your opinion.

Hello Atsie,

One more thing : if you choose for 1/3 of the risk, there is also a bigger chance being stopped out too early. This EA needs more "trading room", because of the nature of gridtrading. When the lotsize and the leverage are small enough, I think, the chances of being stopped out, will be less.

Everything depends on the right and exact calculation of this EA, when it is taking a reversal trade. In that case it needs a lot of room for its trades. In the beginning I found this rather scary, because when you are trading manually, you will take only a risk of 2,5 % on your account and doing only one or two trades everytime. With this gridtrading you are taking bigger risks but the rewards are also much higher, solong this EA is able to continue with this style of trading.

I am happy to hear from you and your opinion.

Hi Maurice,

It is very hard to say what my weekly and monthly gains ar because I am running a couple EA's on this account and they all ran last week. But as of today, BM was the only one running and I am up a little over 2% thus far. As for the "trading room" you speak of, I agree more room is needed in order to let it playitself out but according to Alex, his settings are on 30% SL so together he and I figured out what my lot size should be in regard to my desired loss. But even though I am doing 1/3 of his settings, I also let my SL go to 12% just to give myself some of that room. It is VERY scary to come close to that loss level like I did last week but I got to a little over 7% before closing in a profit.

So as of now I am happy. One of the things I'm not too fond of is that sometimes the EA skips the line to buy or sell the next pair and when it does finally kick in, it does it with a heavy lot size kinda like a martingale system but it has worked out thus far just hope it doesn't bite me at some point. I also am not fond that the EURUSD hasn't triggered at all and tends not to trade when the EURGBP is on. When getting this system, I though I was getting a system that traded both independently...

Other than that so far I am happy and hope I have the settings that are good for now an later on too. Only time will tell...

Thansk!

Hello Alex

I still have 4 EURGBP trades open by the BM ea, question is who closes them ? Is it you or is it the EA?

If I manually close the trades, will the EA then try and take the trades again or is it safe to do so?

Should your Live tests be mimicking our live trades?

Regards
Shaun

I just installed BM yesterday night and it opened 4 EUR/GBP trades and closed today in overall profit. I am not sure if it depends on the broker?? I am running it on ICmarkets 1:500 leverage. Icmarkets has low spread.

I have another question here. The initial lot I set is 0.02 on a $1000 starting balance as I am running it on two pairs. Lets say a few years down the road my account balance increases to $20,000, will it still always open 0.02 lots to begin? Is there any kind of automatic money management here?

According to Alex. There is a money managemnt system in place. You just need to set your initial settings and they will take into effect you current balance. I beleive it is also to set up your risk tolerance as well. The reccomended lot size for 1k is .02 lots but that means you are accepting the preset settings and have a 30% Sl in place.

Hey Alex,
Your account on Myfxbook refreshes once a day. Can you decrease that time to maybe refresh every hour or 30 mins or so?

Just wondering, does the EA copy trades from a master account from somewhere or does it actually trade itself based on the chart we attach to?

What pairs does this EA trade?
