Hi!
I have the same issues as the threadstarter. CAD-trader opens a million orders on my Oanda-Account. I see the problem has been solved for him. Could anybody tell me what to do to stop the EA sending endless orders ??
Hello,
as you can see at my website www.cad-trader.com, OANDA will not be supported any longer, because it seems, that with their own Metatrader Platform they do what they want and do not use different standards.

I'm kinda wondering why the owner doesn't trade his own EA with real money....... maybe cause it's a very dangerous, grid/price averaging EA?

I have the EA also running in my live account, but because I have also some other EAs running and I also trade manually, I do not have it via Myfxbook.
Within the next 1 or 2 weeks I will also open an live account, that is only for the CAD-Trader EA.

Running on demo now since 6/11/2011 (6 trading days). +486 pips, 90% winners, +34% gain on acct.
Tried to put it on Live account (MB Trading) Found out it wont run on USA based account. Will not allow Hedging! error. It will only place one side of the trade, and continually give "journal errors". Bummer.. May look for non-USA broker who will accept US customers to try on live acct. Especially if demo keeps do this well.
I like the "max_risk_%" feature. It looks at all your open postions and treats them like one trade. If all your open postions get to a certain % draw down, it will close all positons. This is basically your Stop Loss. So keep in mind, set this input to what you can live with as a percentage of your account.

Do you mean the new version or the old version? I can not see, what should be hedging in this version? If you have 2 limit orders, that are away about 22 pips, what should be hedging there?
If this is really a problem, I will make an update of the EA, so that the limit orders are internaly in the EA and not on the platform.

I am using the old version and often there are both buy and sell orders open on mine as well. Currently all open orders (3) are sell orders. I will say that sometimes there is only one limit order open instead of two, which I find odd but if i delete that one order then two new ones will pop up; or restarting the platform works also.

Yes I run the old version. True it technically is not a hedge until there is 2 open trades going in opposite directions.
However, US brokers consider it a hedge just by placing opposite orders at the same time on the same pair and therefore automantically cancel one side the of the trade. Thus only leaving either a buy limit or a sell limit. The new US regs also did away with bracket trading for news breakouts, ect. since those types of trades had 2 pending orders on the same pair as well.
If there was a way to make the limit orders internal like you mentioned above, I believe this would make the EA US compliant.
That would be great.
Thanks ebnerfred.

Hey NKDurrani, you should not have drawdown like that. Clearly you are waaaaaaaaaaaay too agressive. I am currently down only 1% on my account with the current settings:
Pips 15
Max spread 4
win per trade 12
risk 5
increase lots FALSE
number of trades 5
those are the basic settings that you need!
I started the EA on June 9th and I'm currently up 7% and my max drawdown has been about 5%.

Hi fineguywhosnice , what about MM, on or off? and Lot size?
I had a 250 gbp account size, so what would you put lot size to?
Hi,
you bought an illegal version of the EA on Ebay. Do you really think, that this works like the original version?
I saw some illegal versions of the EA on the market, but they are not correctly decompiled at all.
