Just curious, I backtested this ea from 14 July 2011 to 31 March 2012 for eurusd with 0.1 lot size on $1000. Most of the equity was wiped out. The final loss is $865.50

So many people are here to support this ea, I believe there are something wrong with my backtest result. Can anyone here help me about this problem?

My FGB BackTest is not bad.
What's broker did you make the BackTest?
Do not make the BackTest at the weekend because of high spread.

Attached are my optimization results for FGB on AUD USD. I haven't done more work on EUR USD as others already have.... MT4 died about 40 hours in and missed a few passes in the end, but you can see the results. The data range was 1jan 2011 to 1 jan 2012... I'm now working my way backwards over the other years...

Is a mystery for me the reasons by which one EA work better on one pair and not on other. I watch the differents charts and I don't see nothing particularly to make a graph working a robot well and other graph working the same robot wrong. All the graphics have the same: supports , resistances, fibonacci retracements, breakouts impulses, bearish and bullish trends. Someone can explain me why this robot might working good on the EUR/USD but not over the rest of the pairs? Regards, Beto

Maybe the proportions are not the same. Look at this. The spread is not the same also.

Each pair has specific characteristics, they are not the same. For example: GBPUSD, EURGBP are good for martingale. EURUSD is good for trend following...

FGB is also good for other pairs but EURUSD is best.

while pairs may look the same short term, long term they are totally different - some trend more, others move sideways more. Some are more volatile and react more to news etc etc etc each pair is different.

From April 3, 2012 to April 5, 2012, EURUSD has moved more than 300 pips meanwhile GBPUSD has only moved less than 200 pips. Is it not different enough?

not 24/7 letting MT4 running....i just re-opened the MT4 Monday night.
So FGBot closed the rest of trades.

*note, i used trailing strop EA, with 6pip starts trailing stop. e.g. whenever pips are earning towards the trade direction with 6 pips, it will lock down the profits

[i added trailing pip decay, meaning in-time, it will reduce the desire profit lesser than default = 6 pips. The longer it goes, 5, or 4 pips profits will be locked. ]

Been there with trail stopping FGB trades. The big problem with it you will lose all the big gains but will still capture all the big losses since once price goes immediately wrong direction your trail stop is of no use. The best is to run FGB as is and if you don't like the drawdown, lower the risk and lot sizes.

Actually i´m using the MEAA automatic trading system from the LIT AG www.meta-trader-expert-advisor.com very sucessful on my real money account. Now i´m looking for a profitable second strategy for one more account. Does anybody know what is the main strategy behind the FGB? Only Trend Trading?

I am having issues since I started to use this new version 1.8
Once there seems to be an open trade that i see here on the myfxbook fgb page, i go check my mt4 that is running on the vps, and on the left upper corner the "position state" says " updating"

This only happens when there is an open position. Other times it shows there the internal and external open position status, which is 0 and 0 , when there is no open position.
