This strategy is simply absurd: Take 10 pips with a stop of 250 ..I think it comments by itself! Anyway if you find a strategy that you like but has a big drawdown you can work with the PARK Account to DELEVERAGE.
You can see my post in my blog and take your consideration. In my example the drawdown become 7.5% instead 75%.

Does anyone have an explanation as to what happened with this EA, 2013 was unbelievable but 2014 has been a ball buster? anyone got time to explain what happened? Thanks
Hello paladino444. On Jan. 29 2014, this EA opened a trade just prior to FOMC news announcement. (Go to page 60 and read my posts--"Joseph"). In a matter of a few days, alot of accounts were blown due to trading too close to major news announcements. If you look at the graph on sphantoms acct page, you will see 2 big drops. This was the first one. The second one was due to the same reason. I no longer trade this EA, as I don't trade around news. I was lucky, and closed the trade just after it was opened for a few dollars gain. After that, the trade went south real fast. It was a real shame to see such a good potential EA go bad like sphantom did. Good Luck. Joseph.

P.S.-- For those of you still using this EA, I would highly advise monitoring it around major news announcements. Go to www.forexfactory.com to see upcoming news. If it takes a trade a few hours before the news, I would recommend closing the trade immediately and disabling the EA until a few hours after the news. As I said in a post a while back: The final responsibility rests with the account holder, not any EA. Good Trading!! Joseph.

Here we go again. EA opened a long position 1 hr. before FOMC minutes announcement. Glad I have this on demo now. Trade now has it's 2 positions opened, both in the red. Starting to look more like gambling.

I put it on demo to see if Sphantom had changed it's strategy in regards to ignoring news releases. Evidently not. Although the trade I mentioned above did close for a small profit, it's just too risky. In order to avoid the big loses in the past, one would have to babysit the EA and constantly monitor news releases. I personally think that if Sphantom would add a "FFCal" code into the EA, it would actually work better. Since it copies trades made by the vendor, they would need to stop trading around news times also.

I use another EA that has a pretty good news filter. Additionally, they send out a Sunday afternoon email of what is being avoided and why. They are pretty good at picking the high impact items. I have been using this to turn sphantom off at critical times. I know some of you consider this baby sitting, but I've never seen an EA yet that didn't have to be watched and occasionally managed. Its the price of profits.
If you would like me to forward these Sunday notification of news alerts to you users, I would be happy to do that. Email me at [email protected]

The method that can be make this EA profitable in the long term is working with the strategy of " Park Account "; in this way you do not have to monitor all the day the EA, you just have to make some liquidity adjustment on the accounts, no more.
You can't manage a strategy with a drawdown of 75%, you must deleverage to arrive at -7,5%.
I wrote about that strategy in my post : http://low-risk-investment.com/psychology-involved/money-management

I am still using this EA, and it runs up good, until my VSP changed their location. Now I cannot re-set up it, becaseu sPhantom's site server is down for a while. Is there someone know how to contact them to ask about it ???
After the second drawdown, I decided to take benefit aside every 200%, then things are fine.
Hope I can get back this EA !!

@joe101180
You could purchase the EA from official web site,
and automail will give you the rest instructions including register and install.
After install EA will execute trading automatically.
