Trading Systems

The real problem are not bad brokers or slippages it is the system itself. Such system are well know and it is only a matter of time when they bow up ( i said it already some week ago https://www.myfxbook.com/community/new-traders/how-find-right-signal/1683052,1 )Eleni was honest, but she also oversold her system. Claiming that there are no dangerous techniques are use is misleading, also that a Stop Loss is used in every situation (according the description on her MT4 page). I think she did not realized the danger. On the other side Metasoft checked the signal and issued repeated warnings like...

I do not question the integrity of the signal provider and she is honest about her approach. But in the last week she made of profit = 22.6 pips as a result of 4 trades und used 2.08 lots but the account has only a balance = 650 € or $. Basically low profits, also a low risks but when the risk event comes then it goes nuclear. Even when there are perhaps reserves of 2.500 the lot size of a trade is very high. With such an balance i would never more invest than 0.05 - 0.1 lots. You have also to check yourself if a watchdog is limiting your leverage. Betfair is a sports betting exchange and ...

hamster-turbo is also here om MyFxBook and you will find a description of the strategy. But the system does not use a classical money management strategy (Margin-Stop-Out). It is a very interesting gambling system for low funded accounts which uses a big leverage (in Europe and USA not possible) and very high stakes. On the other hand: cTrader provides as sample a Martingale system which yields huge profits: A long backtest (2011 -2017) showed how you can become a millionaire starting with an account of 10.000 €. But it is still a Martingale (Drawdown 90%). There is always a point when you...

IMO every trading strategy needs a good exit strategy which is often overlooked. My experience shows that a bad exit can damage every trading approach. When you are using Trend following strategies you have very often to manage unclear situations. A basic Stop-Loss helps but a good designed Exit-System can produce many extra pips.

I have noted also some times these delays but only on MT4. Never noticed them on cTrader. I personally think that cTrader is less expensive (0.9 Pips + 0.4 spread for EURUSD instead of almost 2 pips in MT 4 - also MT5 than MT4). MT5 looks also cheaper than MT4. The real disadvantage of MT5 is that FxPro does not allow hedging (which is now a feature of MT5 when the broker wants it).
