FXtrader2010 is exactly right. Something for posters/believers of daily targets to keep in mind (going to borrow a line from everyone's favorite investor - Warren Buffett): "Our long-term economic goal....is to maximize the average annual rate of gain in intrinsic business value on a per-share basis. We do not measure the economic significance or performance of Berkshire by its size; we measure by per-share progress."That quote pertains to equities, but the principle is to focus on longer term (i.e. annual) returns for longevity.

Something else to note - Professional grade quant software (like the one I use) allows you to create or reconfigure models in a matter of hours, not months. The key to using it properly and profitably is a sound understanding of statistics (along with experience as a trader, as you mentioned).

Quant modeling is extremely powerful (which is why most large asset management firms have quant divisions). While you're correct in saying it can't tell you the entire story for future market behavior, historical number crunching can and will tell you a story that you as a human trader will never see. Used in conjunction with fundamentals and strong money management, quant based strategies can lead to some very profitable opportunities.

It looks like the STP uses linear regression channels, which at some point will "repaint." Not knocking the system, as I'm a fan of Doug's and his strategies, but just something to keep in mind when you look at still-frame screenshots.

Excellent, Doug - Thank you for seeing a flaw and working to correct it. This speaks to your commitment for a quality product for your customers.

If the D1 downward trendline doesn't hold, this trade is toast. Luckily the bullish EOD price action rejected off of it, but we will see how the position unfolds in the next couple of days.

I agree with gwindy - I'm running his EA's as well on a different broker than Synergy, and they work great. Don't criticize him or his products unless you have grounds to stand on.

It's some type of grid strategy. How are the losing "floaters" closed? Those are always what crashes any grid system.
