It appears to me that RTP trades a longer term than VTP. RTP average gain 27 pips, VTP average gain 10 pips. RTP is essentially a reversal trader that only trades reversals that are in synch with the longer term trend.I don't know how VTP works, but it may be about the same but on shorter terms.Since RTP trades the long term reversals/trend, and since the market has pretty much stopped trending in the long term, RTP cannot function properly, hence the latest less than optimal performance. If I were using RTP I would have been sorely tempted to shut it down when the 1D RSI (14) went below 3...

So it made 806% the first year and 967% in the last 10 months, and that without even compounding. Is that so bad? Serious question.

Anybody following the contest? Ionico is doing incredibly well. His gains just went from 16275% on 11 Feb 2015 to 64433% today, 12 Feb 2015. By tomorrow he'll be off of the charts.Brocker is in second place at 25728%. It looks like he's using the same EA, or the same sort of EA anyway, with a lesser drawdown. I haven't tried aligning their trades yet. This is only 8 days into the contest!!I sure would like to know what EA they're using. Any guesses? Any other thoughts?

I would never, and I am NOT trying to put words in Doug's mouth, but I once heard that when Einstein was asked "What was the greatest invention of the 20th century?" he replied "Compounding interest". Doug has been trading the same 3 lots for a long time, while his account balance has grown enormously. In his position I would certainly want my balance to grow exponentially. Perhaps that's what he's doing. I don't know the math, but it could be that his balance has reached the point where he can trade larger positions and not increase risk intolerably. Just m...

Looks a lot like what Ionico is using. Hoping that you will reveal what the EA is.

Nobody can stay awake that long, you must be using a robot. Care to tell us which one, or at least the parameters? Please, I mean?

I may be out in left field here, lets see what others think (especially Doug).RTP is programmed to trade small reversals that follow the 1H and 1D trend. If you look at the RSI(14) and the Full Stochastic (14/7/1) in the daily, weekly and monthly time frames you will see that a major trend change is imminent. That may explain the recent run of losses and the lack of trade opportunities since there is no trend right now. On the other hand, for the first little while that the robot was used back in 2013 and early 2014 there was no trend either and it did very well.Any thoughts on this?

Hi everyone,New here, and sold on RTP, but have a problem.I live in British Columbia, Canada where brokers must register with the province. Max margin here is 20:1.Anyone know how to get around that? I would like to use the 400:1 that Doug uses. Thanks in advance.Mac
