Not all brokers are casinos and not all traders are gamblers, in my opinion.

That is much easier in theory than it is in practice. Gaining trading skills, that is.

What bothers me is that JAFX is apparently not regulated. (https://www.forexbrokerz.com/brokers/JAFX-Review) and it is owned by a person who has been running a binary options trading signals site and who is also being accused of running a Ponzi scheme. On the other hand there are also satisfied clients like you, so who knows. I generally recommend sticking to regulated brokers.
There is no way you can average hundreds of pips per month

The majority of traders don't have those kinds of accounts anyway. However, making 20 pips per day is possible, it's just that few are able to achieve it.

I closed it just on time before the rebound started. But I didn't open a long. 🙄

I shorted pretty late when I saw how it was falling, at 0.8730. I think I should close the short now before the inevitable rebound.

Why do you think a long term trade is a good idea? The pair has been in range for months?

I think the long answer requires adding some caveats. Like that it will probably take a long time, if it happens at all.

Usually when people lose money it’s because they lack the knowledge and experience to trade properly. Sometimes it is the result, however, of the dishonest practices of a scamming broker. What can be said when brokers lie to their clients from the start? For example, the Switzerland financial markets and service providers regulator FINMA has added two more forex brokers to its warning list of unlicensed entities: World Trade Capital and Swiss Assets FX. Both entities claim to be located in Switzerland, but neither is regulated by FINMA as it is required by law. (https://www.forexbrokerz.c...

I shorted EUR/GBP at 0.8825 today and I am about to close the short. 30+ pips are enough for me.

Most major currencies are relatively stable. Of course, there are exceptions sometimes: the GBP and CHF immediately come to mind due to BREXIT and the Swiss Bank shenanigans back in 2015.

Fundamental or Technical- novice traders should start with?

Most people do begin with technical analysis. However, it's not a good idea to put off learning the basics of fundamental analysis for too long, so as to be able to avoid certain events at the very least.

That’s food for thought Leo. I am always interested in regulatory news, because if there are such news and they cause a rattle on the market, I’d rather know. For example, Bitconnect got shut down. (https://www.forexbrokerz.com/news/Bitconnect-shuts-down-exchange-stops-lending-too) In an announcement from January 16th , the platform said the lending operations are terminated immediately, while the exchange will continue to operate for another five days.“We are closing the lending operation immediately with the release of all outstanding loans”, BitConnect said. They also...
