Maybe I misunderstood your post ravenlok. Are you saying that Tom's EA is still working with Tradency, as long as your broker is FXCM, FXDD, or WPFX? I am using FXDD. Thanks.

Tradency is still working fine for me, as of this morning. Most recent position opened today at 7:35 am pst. Obviously, we all need to know if all of the sudden it is going to stop opening and closing trades. Anyone know more about this?

It was technically 90 micro lots altogether, but the first 3 trades closed at a small loss by the time the last trade in the sequence was entered. There were 11 long entries in the Martingale sequence. I am not sure how many short winning trades occurred during the same time frame. I am also not sure about the drawdown vs. margin calculation. I am watching the "margin used" percentage all by itself. I am confident that the EA will recover from the drawdowns, as it has done historically. The question for me, as you have pointed out, is the black swan event which could result in...

Thanks to Tom and Dustin for a great EA! Having said that, I have put together some thoughts about risk, particularly considering US accounts and 50:1 margin. I took a look at Tom’s account re the recovery of the EURJPY trade. The final sequence of lot sizing for the EURJPY Martingale series was as follows:1 (600 pip loss, closed on 1/5 for a .94% loss) 1 (600 pip loss, closed on 1/6 for a .93% loss) 1 (600 pip loss, closed on 1/9 for a .97% loss) All below trades closed on 1/19:3 (-1.65%)6 (-2.42%)9 (-1.94%)12 (-1.23%)15 (0.32%)15 (1.08%)12 (2.52%15 (4.49%)Price dropped around 800 pi...

I would like to point out an issue which I have discovered on my Tradency account. I am in the USA, so I am under the 50:1 leverage rule. I have been running a number of Tradency demos for a couple of months and went live recently.I have noticed that my "used margin" on myl live account is 4 times higher than my demo. I spoke with the folks at FXDD, and they confirmed that the reason was that the Tradency demo was under the 200:1 rules. The live account is under the 50:1 rules. I do not remember specifying that the demo accounts be set up as 200:1 account. I set up the live a...

Ivan:Thanks for your feedback here. For what it's worth, I have been running Tradency / FXDD live with no problems. I did find out that you can actually run MT4 at the same time via FXDD to watch the trades which have been executed on the mirror. Very nice.Tom Y.

Very interesting re different results re EURJPY. Perhaps it is a timing issue of when the various accounts were opened? My Tradency demo had multiple buys during the recent decline, without recovery, in the following sequence:44412243855My 4-week demo expired, so I don't know if it has added another buy at this point. We are now around 100 pips below the most recent buy. Pullbacks had been insufficient to get out of this drawdown. It was the only pair, out of the six pairs I tested for two months, which had not (yet) recovered. I am VERY happy with the EA, but I will not be trading ...

Thanks, crane. I missed that commission issue, which of course makes sense. Tradency is a business and has to make a living somehow. Can you direct me to the link which discusses the one pip commission?

Crane:1) The Tradency advantages that I can see, and please correct me MT4 EA users if I am wrong:a) No need to leave computer on 24 hrs a day (assuming that one is not using a server).b) If one is using MT4 with a server, there is sometimes a charge for that server.c) Servers can sometimes be unreliable, although that is usually not an issue.d) There have been a number of bug issues which have been discussed re the MT4-based EA. Whether these were actual bugs or user-related setup issues has also been discussed.Regarding disadvantages, I would prefer to see a MT4-based platform. I am just u...

Hi everyone:I have been running five separate demo accounts on Tradency for the past 8 weeks. FXDD has a 4 week demo limit, so I had to start all over again after the first month. So really, there are two separate 4-week tests. The weekly percentage equity gain or loss was based upon close of Friday balance from the previous week. Here are the results:Account 1: $2,500.00Overall: RL1EURUSD: RL1Month 1:Starting balance: $2,500.00Week ending 11/11/11: up 2.2% ($2,555.51)Week ending 11/18/11: up 5.4% ($2,693.54) Week ending 11/25/11: down 3.7% ($2,594.82)Week ending 12/02/11: up 8.9% ($...

I can see that one of the big psychological issues with this system is going to be NOT intervening, when price has pulled back into profit with the Martingale trades, but NOT YET hit the Take Profit level. One of the pluses to being on the west coast of the US is that I am asleep a good percentage of the time, when the London action is happening. I can't intervene when I'm asleep!

I have been pondering the starting size of my account and the pair choices, given that I will be going live the second week of January. Some thoughts:1) It is Tom’s opinion that the EURUSD and GBPUSD are the top performers. 2) Regardless of this opinion, Tom still trades other pairs in his account.3) I assume that the reason for trading the other pairs is diversification/safety (if Tom is reading and I am wrong about this, please correct me).4) If there is a runaway trend on any pair without a pullback, the other pairs will hopefully balance out the portfolio. However, the pair...

Dustin:I have ran Tom’s EA on 5 different demo accounts on FXDD / Tradency for the past month. Each account had different starting balances and pair combinations. All were very profitable. For my accounts, the range was from 9% profit to 22% profit for the four weeks. The EA works very consistently, as you know. The key is the risk setting. Tom has been very clear about how the risk setting will determine the success or failure of the EA. Tom's EA gets five stars from me.Tom Y.
