so, should we leave fxbook if there's no more update to our account?
Definitely not. Simply switch to the EA method: http://www.myfxbook.com/help/connect-metatrader-ea
The account will resume updating normally (and faster, every 5 minutes).

is it only me?
I can't install the EA method, because none of my MT4s are being detected within the installer. (see screenshot)
I have admin rights and I have multiple installations of MT4 from various broker. How the detecting works via registry or via file structure?
cheers,
A.

Are you running the file in administrator mode? (right click the file to select)

Please use the 'Add' button to manually find the installation.
That has worked for me every time!
BTW, should open a new thread for these EA problems because are not related to this auto update problem.

Hi so is the auto update option gone forever?
Also couldn't you guys just decrease the update frequency to say daily to get around the blocks?
At this time it is disabled. We cannot decrease the update frequency as we do not know the exact limitations.

Thanks to another contributor on this forum I have finally got myFxBook working again.
It required deleting all my accounts in the Portfolio and deleting the fxbook EA's in each platform and then downloading and re-installing them from myFxBook again.
A nuisance but I am happy it is working again.
Mike.

There is no need to delete any accounts (when deleting, you're losing all attachments, user watch list, comments etc').
Simply download the EA and run it in your MT4 - it will resume updating normally http://www.myfxbook.com/help/connect-metatrader-ea

if FXPro would lower the frequency of the TV ads a bit on bloomberg, then it may be able better fund the running cost of the autoupdate system! May be I am wrong but is there any FXPro customers among us complainers?
well, even if a couple will pose as complainers, I will still smell a fish..
from the technical and architectural point of views, it will be cheaper to run the EA approach as a push method rather than running that automated pull method.. so it makes sense to me as being a cost reduction mechanism..
Do us a favor, if this is really the case which makes perfect sense to me, try something else to reduce cost. what type of fools are you people taking us as?
For example, take this:
1) will almost all brokers decide to block you almost at the same time?
2) please divide the 70+K accounts on the number of brokers running them and tell us if it will really have that type of impact on each broker especially that your connections are just short data harvesting one using investor accounts. It hardly has any impact on live servers which are a lot powerful than demo one which are swarming with demo traders whom are most of the time not even broker customers!
I am convinced that this is a staged cost reduction mechanism and not a technical issue..
So thanks for the great hassle..

If you have a solution which will allow us to update accounts we will be glad to hear it. If you read the first post of this topic, you will see that we can't do anything on our end as we're getting blocked.
FxPro do no own Myfxbook if that is what you're implying.
The only true solution would be if MetaQuotes would offer an API however they do not wish to. You can also try and address it with them.
