i am trying a new experiment... following the concept of Zig Zag..
Is been hard work.. and i dunno if the hard work will pay off.

I have a full develop EA using this strategy.. at this moment.. I am trying to make it produce money.. but in forex ... is a tough thing to do for everybody. I have a group chat in skype. That I communicate with 24/7. Is easier to update info and make very good friendships.
If you want to be in this group.. let me know.. and I will tell you the details.

Is interesting you mention scalping.. I am currently scalping 1 minute charts with the Zig zag.
I use to think it was too fast but, zooming out has help me slow the speed of it
and the zig zag aids me..
i am at this point where I can see when price is growing.. I call it trending
and when price is ranging.. I try to fade it by selling tops and buying bottoms
all this at 1 minute charts.

wow, scalping in M1 chart? can't imagine how fast in US market... I use scalping at 3am until 7am Jakarta time GMT+7 (if I'm not wrong, it is 3pm-7pm EST. The market is really slow. I take 1-10 pips, but 3-5 pips average. It is really profitable using IndraFXs template. With zig zag, actually it much easier. I thought I got your idea, it is very interesting to place buy stop/sell stop orders in one minute chart. :) (I don't know how to describe it in English 😁 )

thx Subkhan. If you zoom in on price on the 1 minute chart price becomes to fast and most of the time this action is not that many pips. But if you zoom out the chart the slower price becomes.

I came across an indicator called Heiken-Ashi chart which calculates the trend momentum and improves the results of the candlesticks. The candlestick chart does look clearer and maybe can help us to pin point the highs and lows more accurately. Have you try it before?

Yes I have. I think most indicators can be helpful in one point or another to help you determine price action direction. I have been trading for years now (3+) and one of the things i notice is price has its own nature. It is very hard to predict and most indicators lag. I like the Zig Zag strategy a lot and I've been trying it ever since I started this thread. It hasn't been easy and through trials and errors and do to a believe that this indicator works.. I have been able to stick with it. Now it starting to pay off and it has launch me to what I think is the second level of my trading career.
When I started trading with different methods.. my trading never got hire than 30% a month. I win some and then lost it again. Now I feel more confident and I am having better success.
I competed last month on myfxbook fxcm trading contest and I did 29th place finishing with about 80%.

After the contest was over I started another demo account and I am very close to doing 50% a little past half of the month is over.

So my advise is if you really believe in an indicator stick with it. It paid off for me.

Yeah. Two things you need to keep in mind.. Ranges and Trends. Because of these two things is really impossible to get the hi and low of movements plus if you add time frames to the mix of the equation it gets crazy. I try a lot of indicators even the Heiken-Ashi but now I just restrain myself to only using zig zag because is become more clearer for me to use. Remember rather than finding out which indicator gives the best entry or exit ask yourself what is a solution to a ranging market and what is a solution for a trending market. I believe this is key and zig zag can help you educate you about it.

amazing results!
only one question: will the zigzag indicator repaint the last line which is already drawn? if so, how to handle it?
and Williams, the trading records look like that your system is already changed? not in 4h timeframe? to 15m? and the enter/exit rules are still the same?

the system evolved.. and now the zig zag doesn't repaint unless is n m1 length 1 for example.... if price is pushing then it might.. but is doesn't normally do it.

I love locking profits and the best way to do it is trailing on profit.. I use 25 pips. If move is valid it should go up in pips.. but if not I still exist with a small profit.
