hello everyone, i am running KeltnerPRO on eurjpy, it opened a sell position yesterday and i moved the SL manually to a higher lever however in the morning i see the position was closed, not on the SL and not for margin issue, did anyone had an issue like this before with manually set stop loss?

Check your log. It should tell you what happened. If not ask your broker.

Give the EA time.. every system will face a draw down at one point or another. But over all this EA has a nice strategy, I believe it will be profitable in the long run.

I know it will fail at some point. Haven't seen a commercial EA that didn't fail yet. The trick will be spotting when it has failed. A hidden stop loss will extend it's life span in my opinion.

so... may be you'd better stop to invest in a commercial EA and use a free efficiant one?

In the future i think the best way to profit from this EA will be to use it as a signal generator, wait for it to go in drawdown and then trade it, as it is good at getting the direction right

I'm open to suggestions, although my gut tells me there aren't any free, efficient EA's out there.
Personally I'm not bothered that it will stop working, it's the nature of trading. Providing you run a diversified portfolio failures aren't an issue.

Just trade it consistently, its a good strategy. And ignore the noise in these public forums. It someone thinks it will fail, it's just their opinion, respect it, and if you agree with it, go for it. If you don't, just know they could be wrong.
If they haven't seen any commercial EA be profitable for the long haul, doesn't mean there isn't one. If there hasn't been any commercial EA that has been profitable in the long haul, doesn't mean there wont be one.
Be the judge yourself, look at the strategy, and if it makes long term sense, it's a good EA. The stops will get hit, but eventually you will have more take profits getting hit than the stops. And this EA has a good risk o reward ration.

I recommend you read this and then maybe take a moment of quiet reflection to consider the implications to commercially released EA's.

Since this investigation started some opinions on forums stopped being opinions and became cold, hard facts.

@stevetrade I'm not trying to rub of the wrong way here... I'm sure there is a lot I can learn from you.
Do banks hunt Stop losses? Of course they do... but are they hunting stop losses for Keltner? I doubt it. But yeah, sometimes it will get hit during their SL hunting but that can happen with any trade...
Remember November 7th on EURUSD? there was clear stop loss hunting but none of keltner's trades got affected, because it didn't open trades....

interesting views on commercial eas.i have been following many years forex and seen the days paid eas always been nearly alll sold on demo basis.i once paid $399 for a scalper 40 pip sl tp 2-3 pips.great performance on demo ;put live ;failed on around 93% winning rate.then saw free in forums some time later.this put me off for many years until i recently saw commercial eas on live accounts like fxbook.who can fault the performance.having tried creating my own eas;i know how hard it is to get a ea to profit long term.so the level of eas is improving;one of the major proofs is now sellers are having their source codes protected at a cost of thousands of dollars in software..they never did this before.so i would only buy from someone who did this.;from now on.here stories of people buying hundreds of eas in past and losing money on them.so i think the new benchmark of live verfied accounts;and sellers protecting their codes in eas for both buyer and seller a good thing.also i would think having a lot more people buy and trade same ea would make in more profitable long term as more money would trade in same direction.i like the ideas of eas; as i tried siocial trading sites like zulutrade ;many good traders but they change their style and hunt commission. also they change methods. with a ea you can know what to expect;if you get someone else to trade for you;you can just never know if their style will change;or what their motives are.a ea robot has no motives!!!

its a very interesting article much of what it says has indeed been proven. however do you not think that the market is so large that it impossible to manipulate for more than a very short time after which the natural order of buying and selling returns. Also remember whenever the market is manipulated there are still buyers and sellers waiting to trade and take advantage

Sorry, sometimes I come across as brusque. I'm not saying they are specifically hunting Keltner stops. The more successful a commercial EA becomes the more people buy it ( even though they always claim to be limited sales - this is just a marketing ploy ).
The more people buy it, the more impact it has on the order books and consequently the more likely it is to be targeted. Successful systems change markets and suddenly the backtesting that your system was built on is invalid.
The market makers are here to make money out of the markets just like we are and it's a net zero sum game with the market makers operating with a lot more information and power at their finger tips than we are.
Best regards Steve

I honestly think one of the best ways of trading these EAs with tight stops is to wait and see if it goes into drawdown then trade it. I have been doing it with REVpro Keltner and Megadroid and as long as you are around to manage your trades you can make money. The way i do it is to place 3 trades with the same stop loss and 3 different take profits and when the first take profit is hit i move my stop loss to break even. If the EA makes money as well im delighted and my win ratio has been very good
