Check the spreads. Spread always widens just before news and narrows after most of the impact is gone. If anything of significance hits the market, long before it's news, you will see it in the spreads.

No one has any real idea. Bitcoin was created after 2008. The last real major market event. There isn't any historical precedent for Bitcoin. I'm sure there will be lots of opinions, but the fact is it's a complete unknown.

In 2017 on the last run up Bitcoin had at least 11 crashes of 50% or more for the year. Bitcoin will be volatile for years to come. I personally think one of the better strategies to trade it is to buy the crashes. Have orders in the market that starts at about -50% from the last high and TP out at last high + 50% or something like that. You can do a lot worse than double your money 11 times in a year. It will likely work for the next decade or so. That said as it matures the volatility will drop over time and the crashes will become less and less severe. Easy to code and run, but takes the pat...

There is no way you can average hundreds of pips per month

A pair on average does about 25 000 to 45 000 value changes per pair per day. So on the 8 main currencies which generate 28 pairs you can easily do several thousand pips a day....The main factors that prevent people from doing this is trade sizes and volume restrictions. It generates an incredible amount of open trades as you can well imagine, but it can be done.

"Soros was born in Budapest in the Kingdom of Hungary to a well-to-do non-observant Jewish family, who, like many upper-middle class Hungarian Jews at the time, were uncomfortable with their roots. ... Soros was 13 years old in March 1944 when Nazi Germany occupied Hungary."How is a Hungarian middle class jew an "insider" in London ? He had to trade his way to that infamous day.

This question is so stupid. I have 20 robots on 20 accounts handling 1 000 000 value changes a day per account. And you think manual trading is still relevant ?

You can't measure slippage in time. It's got nothing to do with time. Wether there are buyers or not is never measured in time, always in price. Period. That is not debatable. If your broker is delaying your orders by time it either means his servers aren't adequate for the client base or in many cases they will simply delay you because they have higher priorities. Nothing to do with slippage. And just for the record on exchanges there are special order types which won't have the delays. Privileged clients have privileged order types. Only the riff raff gets delayed. You guys ...

You can code. Why are you looking to get people to code for you ? What's really going on ? But then again it doesn't really matter, does it?I think I'll go drink beer at the pool for a few hours. Good luck with whatever the latest scheme is.

I actually got another lesson on it just the other day from a Bitcoin site of all things, so I'm quite sure I understand it, it's a function of price, not time as you claim. How can you have slippage of 5000 ms? That makes no sense at all. FYIhttp://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/slippage.asp

@togr Slippage can't be in time, it's in price and generally caused by there being no counter party to your trade, so you can't get a fill and need to look at wider prices for the fill. So the best way not to get slippage is to send and order with a 0 slippage parameter and run the risk of the order failing. Then you have to send it again. @beebird With MT 4 you have the internet between you and the broker, so every action is individual and you have to wait for a response. So lets say you're trying to close a trade as I outlined above, with 0 slippage and it fails it might take...

And I have to say, if you're getting slippage it's just your broker **** with you. The fx is so liquid. Unless you're doing $10mil/$20mil per order you should not be getting slippage. But the platform becomes really important. Forget about MT for this. Has to be API where the execution is handled their side, not your side.
