Euro Area ECB Interest Rate Decision
The Governing Council of the European Central Bank determines the benchmark interest rate for the Euro Area. ECB's monetary policy is primarily concerned with maintaining price stability, which is defined as keeping inflation below but near to 2% over the medium term. During protracted periods of low inflation and low interest rates, the ECB may also use unconventional monetary policy tools such as asset purchase programs. The Main refinancing operations rate is the official interest rate.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

German Industrial Production Declines In March
Germany's industrial production declined for the first time in three months in March driven by the decreases in consumer and intermediate goods output, official data revealed Wednesday. Eurozone Private Sector Growth Accelerates In April
The euro area private sector growth accelerated to an 11-month high in April driven by the service sector, final survey results from S&P Global showed on Monday. The HCOB composite output index rose to 51.7 in April from 50.3 in the previous month. The flash estimate was 51.4.
