Italy Construction PMI
Based on data obtained in the middle of the month, survey responses reflect any changes that have occurred in the current month as compared to the previous month. The report for each indicator provides information on the percentage of respondents who provided each reply, the net difference between the number of higher/better responses and the number of lower/worse replies, and the diffusion index. This index is calculated as the total of the positive responses plus half of the responses that were the same. Diffusion indexes have the characteristics of key indicators and are useful summary measurements that indicate the success potential direction of change. An index rating greater than 50 implies an overall increase in that variable, whereas a rating or less than 50 implies an overall decline in that variable.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the EUR while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the EUR.

German GDP Grows 0.2% As Estimated
The German economy expanded as initially estimated in the first quarter and avoided a recession, thanks to the rebound in investment and exports. Gross domestic product expanded 0.2 percent sequentially in the first quarter, in contrast to the 0.5 percent decrease in the preceding three months, Destatis reported Friday. The statistical office confirmed the flash estimate published on April 30.

Eurozone Private Sector Recovery Gains Strength On New Orders
The euro area private sector activity grew at the fastest pace in a year in May on bigger increases in new orders, employment and an improvement in business confidence, flash survey data from S&P Global showed on Thursday. The flash composite output index posted 52.3 in May, up from 51.7 in the previous month. The score was also above economists' forecast of 52.0.
