Direct services as such barbers, taxi drivers, and waiter's current state are evaluated by The Economy Watchers Present Index. The statistics are collected through a survey of around 2,050 workers. A value above 50.0 suggests optimism, whereas a reading below 50.0 implies pessimism.
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the JPY while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the JPY.
