United States Balance of Trade
Since 1976, the United States has consistently maintained trade deficits due to significant imports of oil and consumer goods. In 2018, the highest trade deficits were recorded by China, Mexico, Germany, Japan, Ireland, Vietnam, and Italy, while the largest trade surpluses were recorded by Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Brazil, and Panama in the same year. China is the country's largest trading partner, accounting for 16% of total commerce, followed by Canada (15%) and Mexico (15%).
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the USD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the USD.

U.S. Consumer Sentiment Dips More Than Previously Estimated In April
Revised data released by the University of Michigan on Friday showed consumer sentiment in the U.S. deteriorated by more than previously estimated in the month of April. The University of Michigan said its consumer sentiment index for April was downwardly revised to 77.2 from a preliminary reading of 77.9.
