United States Retail Sales MoM
The retail sales report in the United States provides an aggregated assessment of retail goods and services sales over the course of a month. The most dominant types of retailers are: motor vehicle & parts dealers (approximately 20% of total sales), food & beverage stores (13% of total sales), general merchandise stores (12.5%), food services & drinking establishments (11%), gas stations (10%), non-store retailers (9.2% of total sales), building material & garden dealers (6% of total sales), health and personal care stores (6% of total sales), other store retailers (2.3%), furniture stores (2%), electronics & appliances stores (2%), and sporting merchandise, hobby, book & music stores (1.7%).
A higher than expected figure should be seen as positive (bullish) for the USD while a lower than expected figure should be seen as negative (bearish) for the USD.

U.S. Weekly Jobless Claims Pull Back From More Than Eight-Month High
After reporting a notable increase in first-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits in the previous week, the Labor Department released a report on Thursday showing jobless claims pulled back roughly in line with estimates in the week ended May 11th. The Labor Department said initial jobless claims fell to 222,000, a decrease of 10,000 from the previous week's revised level of 232,000.
