How to answer what do you do for a living?

I do not wish to discuss this very much misunderstood activity of trading in social settings or with new friends I don’t know well just yet. I am looking for some kind of friendly answer that is specific and uninteresting enough not to arise any more questions. Saying i work from home doesnt solve the issue, because it is immediately followed by “what do you do” question. I don’t want to lie completely, just want to avoid the trading part. Do you have any ideas?

you can say that you are working as a Freelancer.
Freelancer means works as per project who get his project from online source.

I just tell people I do quantitative analysis related to international finance.
If they press for more information, I simply tell them "I don't want to talk about it."

If it looks too good to be true, it's probably a scam! Let the buyer beware.

Just be honest, that would filter real friends from the rest.
If you need workaround just say I am doing computer business.
