I wonder the number of pips are less than the % return....

Where is this game?
I trade and put a hard stop loss.
My transactions are closed at a loss, as well as a plus.
My trading strategy is open, as are my deals.
You can write to other people who trade without losing trades and with a maximum drawdown.

Maybe some of your people have your blinders on, his DD is at 47%. He had 15 losing trades on the first day that he ran the EA (Dec 10/2018) at a loss of over -700 pips, but all 15 trader were actually in profit between +19 and +2 pips, but the EA did not close that basket which would have been very profitable.
Then on the same day he had 35 trades open for over one day, that reached an average of -50 pips per trade before they were closed at a profit, or -$175.00 on a $100 account. FYI My Fx Book does not calculate the open trade DD properly, because the open trade DD on these 35 trades would have been a margin call if his leverage wasn't so big. He ended up that day at -$45.00 after it was all said and done.
