I closed my system because my broker IC Markets doesn't want me using them anymore without filling out a form that would require me to have over 2 million iny account. September of last year I forgot to deposit funds during a period of drawdown when I went on vacation. I came back and lost $500. No big deal. I deposited the funds and everything was ok after that. I always ran it with a small balance and made deposits as needed.

fhhamoud, my broker changed servers and no longer has investor passwords, so I cannot publish, and wanted a bit more privacy on the account.

Amjad Depp, No there was no manual action. The system decided to close the open trades, though close to break even was in a small loss, but the overall balance did go down a bit (about 1%) because of the daily swap charge held while the trades were open.

My trades continue to closely match that of the published account. Same ~DD, and 90+% same trade activity.

Here are a couple of screen shots, one profit (which does not take the swap into account, which ends up being withdrawals on my broker), and the other overall balance which can see went down from the swap withdrawal.



The base low risk I follow is this sequence on a 100K account as found in the manual, with some risk mods:

I am using x2 risk (which is about the same as the published account for start lot of 0.01) and my sequence account changes based on a 12.5K account on the above sequence, so after each $12.5K growth I will increase the sequence accordingly.

For example, on a $50K account (4 x $12.5 (base balance)) my risk sequence is:

equal to that of the prescribed 100K account in the manual.

The published account is still completely accurate, and personal trading matches it. Very stable system thus far. Not get rich quick, but give it time, and it really can make a huge difference.

I recommend starting with $10K (ideal $12.5k), and at min $5K. My broker is 1:50 leverage so I require the $12.5K to handle the margin requirements on the x2 risk.

Also update the Max Lot accordingly as well. x2 risk at $12.5 is 3.0 max lot. $50k account at x2 risk is max lot of 12.0 lots, etc etc. so at x2 risk, increase max lot by 3.0 lots for each $12.5k in your account.

This is of course my personal preference. Historically the x2 risk has a max floating DD of 20% (only hit once), but generally does not go above 10%, and most often < 5%. Always gauge your risk tolerance.... can make plenty more if you want higher DD risk and greater lot sizes, such as 4x risk (lots increases each $6250 instead) leading to a historical max DD of 40%, just need to be sure you have enough leverage/margin and can stomach the DD periods.

just realized I was logged in under the wrong account when I replied (NJ4X). I am opening another brokerage account and using funnel asap.

@todompoll thanks brother for this helpful detailed information, i will go and try it with cent account first to 'feel' the system, even i am following the live vendor account.

but if i am starting with 10K deposit with 2X risk. i think last week or more, the vendor account reach 1500$ draw-down, and its still with the minimum risk as he explained on Skype.
so if i do 2X risk with 10k account it will hit 3000$ thats 30% draw down. am i right?

The historical DD is approx $2500 per 0.01 start lot.

So the case of the x1 risk, on a $25K account, and max DD of $2500 with start lot of 0.01. So x1 risk has max historical DD of 10%.

x2 risk, with $12.5k on 0.01 start lot, is $2500 hist DD, so 20%.

$10k account, with start lot of 0.01 is the same $2500, which will be a historical max DD of 25%. That would be equiv risk x2.5.

The vendor account is ~$15K, so the DD of $1500 was 10%. The vendor is leaving the start lot at 0.01 at ~$15k, which would be current risk of x1.7, as compared to the base $25k to 0.01 lot x1 risk level which it will eventually reach in a year or so.

The vendor recommended FXChoice broker appears reliable with good spreads/execution.

vontogr, Very uninformed and I think a bit disingenuous, as this has been explained before, specifically to you. That account was using a strategy that brings higher return, with lot configuration far beyond the vendor documentation, since DD is generally manageable, but requires monitoring to add funds to the account temporarily if DD goes beyond the average activity. People are genuinely sharing their experience, and what they personally use for this EA. You clearly have not and have no interest. The Vendor published account is entirely accurate.

My point is still valid.
If the risk was almost 90% of the account then profit should correspond to it.
So if we divide the risk to let's say 25% DD and decrease the profit the same way it is not worth it.

Still being disingenuous.... it is not a valid comparison and you should stop stating falsehoods. General Max Floating Point DD is < 10%, with ~50% growth in a year.... 20% FP DD with the mentioned x2 risk only happened once almost 2 years ago.

What you write makes no sense.... worth to you is different from worth to another. How many systems die, making people lose all their money in Forex... MOST! If Vendor instructions are followed, you would get same result as published account, as my trades mirror that closely.

50% growth last year for me, with max FP DD at any time of < 10% (usually < 5%), with continued stability and safe account growth is worth it to me, while other systems that make 300% in 6 months, and then crash to zero...not worth it. I am very happy with 50% growth a year, and a safe and stable system, where I feel my account is not at risk. Am sure most others would agree.

You are conflating a failed system, vs a result on that other account that is by design/expectations. The account you are referencing was used outside of normal configurations as desired by the trader.

Any system can make 100% a week if the risk is set high, while risking the account balance.

There are clear configuration guidelines, and understood expectations of returns by viewing the published account, with demonstrated stability, when following the configuration guidelines in a 'Set it/Forget it'configuration.

You are trolling this discussion vintogr, without knowing facts, and you should stop.

What are your thoughts on this current draw down phase? I'm trading with 5.6K on default settings and am at 32% draw down, 2.1 lots open. I've been using Funnel since June and this is the biggest DD I've seen so far... Should I be worried? I'm thinking I'll transfer another 1 or maybe 2K over.

yes I would add more $ to be safe. Just keep in mind anything you add is also at risk but gives you a better chance of coming out of the trade. We are simply on the wrong side of the market. Watch equities markets for large moves up. If we have another strong run up in equities, I suspect the drawdown could worsen. However, when we get a risk off move, it should take us into profit.

Thanks for your input Ryan. Have put another 1K in for now. Max lots is 3 so still have another level to go if it continues to trade against. According to the manual default settings are for a 3K account - I think the manual should be updated to say defult settings are for a 5k account absolute minimum...

yes I agree, 5k. Can't trade 3 lots with 3k on this system. Even 5 is kinda low. I have 4 ATM but I'll add more if I need it.
Today AUDJPY could close extremely bearish so this will help to get out of the drawdown. Expect a losing trade because of the swap charges.
