Eurozone Retail Sales Rise Less Than Expected
Eurozone retail sales grew less than expected at the start of the year suggesting that high inflation continued to eat into consumer spending, data from the statistical office Eurostat showed Monday. Retail sales increased only 0.3 percent in January from December, when turnover was down 1.7 percent. Economists had forecast 1.0 percent growth.

German Construction Downturn Eases In February
Germany's construction activity continued to remain in contraction in February though the pace of decline has softened since the start of the year amid cooling cost pressures and supply-chain constraints, survey results from S&P Global showed Monday. The construction Purchasing Managers' Index, or PMI, rose to an 11-month high of 48.6 in February from 43.3 in the previous month.

Luxury electric major Tesla Inc. has slashed prices of its Model S sedan and Model X SUV vehicles in the United States, aiming to boost demand. The price cut comes for the second time this year after the company drastically cut prices in January in a bid to boost sales. According to the company's website, around $5,000 was reduced on Model S price and around $10,000 on Model X vehicles.

Swiss Inflation At 6-Month High
Switzerland's consumer price inflation unexpectedly rose to a six-month high in February driven by food and energy prices and raised the scope for the fourth consecutive rate hike this month.
