Good, before it didn't close a sell order when it passed the take profit (obv the price rebounded and I lost that).
Now it doesn't open a pending sell order when it hit the open price.

Reliable broker, yep.

Again, TP passed and order still opened.

Hi Innaig86,

It's possible you're not taking into account the bid-ask spread and/or the difference between our raw FX spreads which you can see in the Market Watch window, and the MT4 chart prices which I explain in my first post on the first page of this discussion thread: https://www.myfxbook.com/community/contests/forex-contest-fxcm/840323,1

If you still have questions about your demo trades, please post the details here.

Thanks,
Jason

Thank you Tony
Yes your script gives the same result as the MW prices. I also use an indicator called fxspread which shows the Live MW spread all the time on the chart.
I am still not 100% sure that a typical EA will use the MW values since I have no MQL knowledge. I see several instances where a trade should have closed when the price went well beyond the set TP.
It may be due to slippage or other market variables or EA error!
I am referring to my real account rather than FXCM Demo!
FXCM say they will have this issue sorted very soon anyhow but why are separate price feeds used for the charts in MT4 platform but not in Trade Station?
Brokers with similar low spreads like Pepperstone and ICmarkets do not have this issue on MT4

Hi Tony
Please advise how I can know or test which pricing the EA is using.
Maybe it depends on how the EA code is written?
Rimantas at ea-coder.com says that he would not use any EA on a broker who is using different price feeds for the MW and the charts!

Put this code in a script and the drag the script onto your chart

PrintFormat('HEY! bid=%f ask=%f spread=%f',bid,ask,ask-bid);

Then check your log for a message with the word HEY

While I discuss this in more detail in my first post on the first page of this discussion thread, below is a summary: https://www.myfxbook.com/community/contests/forex-contest/840323,1

The Bid and Ask prices you see in the Market Watch window are the best quotes taken from among 10+ competing liquidity providers on FXCM's No Dealing Desk (NDD) forex execution. Those are the actual quotes available to you to execute your trades on our new pricing. However, unlike Trading Station and NinjaTrader, the MT4 platform has a limitation that allows only one price feed per server to be used on charts. The MT4 charts still show our old pricing, because many clients on these servers have not yet been upgraded to the new pricing.

The transition to our new pricing is being done region by region to ensure we follow regulatory requirements for due notice to traders which vary by regulator, and to ensure an orderly transition within our own system so as not to negatively impact our traders. Unlike the brokers you mentioned, FXCM is regulated on 4 continents with 212,019 retail tradable accounts as of the latest financial data: https://bit.ly/1npdek8

Will there ever be a contest for regular TradingStation / Ninjatrader clients?

When can we expect bid and ask line showing actuall price? This year? Spring, summer...? For swing traders is not problem but for scalping having entry lines 2 pips above actual candle is very bad and not accurate to trade... Please do as soon as possible!
Also in mt4 commisions are seen as withdrawals. Talk with metaquotes about charging commisions in trade itself at the entry not as losing trade (withdrawal)...it gives fake statistic.. I tried to talk about that with FXCM support several times without success.

I hope here i will get some +++ from other FXCM users noticing that aswell.

@Edwardm as TheGMan said, FXCM implemented a solution for MT4 charts.

If you are using Trading Station, then the spreads you see on your charts will depend on your account type: Mini or Standard. However, if you are using MT4, then the spreads you see on your charts will depend on the MT4 server to which you are connected. While the charts on some of our MT4 servers reflect the raw FX spreads available to Standard accounts, the FX charts on our other MT4 servers reflect the all-inclusive spreads (with no separate commissions) available to Mini accounts.

If you complete the form below, we can switch your Standard account to an MT4 server with charts displaying the raw FX spreads available to you for trading.
