some other good news is
fxstreet dot com
zero hedge dot com
atnabtu dot com
also dukascopy dot com has a good news video channel, and great tools like liquidity provider sentiment
also oanda has good tools like the open positions summary.
just some of my favorites, but I think a lot of people are using twitter feeds for fast news developments

I think that every website is at least 10 to 15 minutes behind the pip strikes that happen. I thought i saw somewhere, where you could get on the spot news as fast as the pros do? Maybe we are not able to as retail forex people. I don't know I just hate getting nailed on small pip spikes based on something that was not posted or was but 10 minutes to late. Any thoughts anybody?

yea i know what you mean, like euro dropping 100 pips then you find out after the move happens that Portugal's bond rating was lowered. or china raised interest rates spontaneously, etc...
and then when the move is happening and I know something is going on, I can't seem to find out what the market is reacting to until the banks etc... move the market past a point where i could have profited from the info, then it's a news story... really annoying

Try http://www.forexlive.com, get the Feed Notifier freeware (RSS tray reader), configure for their RSS feed and set it to update every 1 minute. News will pop with only slight delay compared to paid services.

I use forexfactory, i think they are timely because of the time the news comes out, give it a try....
I'm using Myfxbook's news http://www.myfxbook.com/streaming-forex-news
Forexfactory's news are based on user submissions which are moderated, so they are posted with quite a delay.

The institutional services: Bloomberg, Reuters and /Dow Jones are mostly too expensive for the retail trader
The best two services I know for the retail trader are Trade the News and Talking Forex.
You can get talking forex for free on global-view but it has a 10-15min delay or you can pay them GBP 20/mo. They provide both text and a voice box. Both services use the top institutional news services as their sources. So they are both a good deal. I subscribe to both.and have for years.
Keep in mind the algos get the data nano-seconds after the release times so they can get in AND out before you have even seen the news.

Paid fees such as Reuters, Bloomberg or Alpha Flash are the best when it comes to quality and speed. However, as others already mentioned, they are not affordable for all retail traders. If you look for a web based (free) feed, ForexFactory and MyFxBook offer the best solutions. The ForexFactory calendar includes lots of additional information, which is great for research but does not automatically update. The MyFxBook calendar updates automatically but offers less background information.
Another solution is to use a news reader for MT4. The advantage is that you receive all the news in real time directly on your trading platform. Here is a screenshot where you can see how our news reader looks like. If you like it, you can download it here for free. Link: http://www.forex21.com/fx-pulse-3
