Started a new EA on Feb 13 which is why history goes back that far.

I'm excited about this EA. It's the first non-martingale EA I've written that has done very well in back testing. It was able to turn $180 into just over $3000 in a little more than 3 months. I know real life can be much different than back testing so I have it running on 2 real accounts. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Ouch, that gap kicked me hard. Most of my losses have occurred on Fridays, so I've stopped the EA from opening new positions on Fridays. That will hopefully fix any gaps like that in the future, too.

Kind of an ugly day today with 2 losses. This kind of thing happened frequently during back-testing so it doesn't really bother me too much. I'd rather see gains, of course!

How much can I believe back testing?? I'm back-testing a minor change with my opening strategy, and the results are a bit crazy. The initial results I'm seeing are showing a balance of over $15,000 on a starting balance of $180. That's crazy.

Updated to version 1.3 because of the back-testing results I got. I know I won't see those results, but the relative difference makes the upgrade worthwhile, I think.

The 2nd trade today was a direct result of the upgrade. Now if it'll stay positive that would be nice!

I'm a little discouraged after a bad Thursday. Oh the joys of Forex trading! 😐 I've stopped my EA from trading on Fridays so I'm done for the weekend. Here's to a better week next week!!

I've had to make a strategy change. I'm moving away from EURJPY 1H and going with EURUSD 4H for now. The lack of movement in EJ has been killing my account.

Upgraded to version 1.6x. Uses a following SL instead of Parabolic SAR indicator to close the trades. The hope is the losses will be smaller and the gains will be at least as big. The following SL uses a percentage rather than fixed pips to follow, so it moves faster when the current price is farther away, and slows down as it approaches the price.

Updated to version 1.6.2. This version is optimized for the EURJPY 4h chart and includes provisions to reduce the false starts. Seems to be better so far.
