The risk factor is not the same as the lot size. Alex's backtest is at a rick factor of 0.07 (7% = 0.01 lots per $140.00) which is actually less then the recommended risk factor of 0.1. (Risk factor of 0.1 or 10% = 0.01 lots per $100.00)
I don't get it quite, he recommends 10.000Deposit = 1.00 Lotsize, 1000 = 0.10 and 100 = 0.01
How you get 140$ at 0.07 lots?
What is it at 1000Deposit with 0.10? 10% ?
The risk factor is a percentage of your account that you want to risk per trade. It is not the lot size.
So it is not $140 at 0.07 lots.
It means it will trade 0.01 lots per $140 dollars, or another words it will risk only 7% of your account. (risk factor 0.07)
Alex recommends trading 0.01 lots per $100 dollars. That is equivalent to 10% (risk factor 0.10)
With a 1000 deposit and a risk factor of 0.10 (10%) it will trade 0.1 lots.
You can confirm this by playing with the settings in the strategy tester.

Hi Can someone please help me with the correct imputs , i would like to keep the default settings that is recommended. My account size is US2300 and my broker gmt is +3. I currently have my risk factor at 0.1 and my lot size at 0.1 , and i have gmt offset at 3. Does this look ok or should i change something.
Also magic number is 5899777 and other 3 settings are moving period at 90.0 , slow ema at 36 and signal period at 55.
If someone can see something that needs adjusting can they please let me know.

Unfortunately I couldn't get the strategy tester to work, always no history data, I downloaded from many sites tried with different brokers but still didn't work.
In the other forum forexpeacearmy someone posted this backtest results, looking bad...

You can use the Custom Analysis at the top right of the page to see the different performances...start from 04/26/2016 because only GMT+2 started one day earlier...and choose Magic
GMT +2 as it should be.
GMT +1 (-1 compared to what it should be)
GMT +3 (+1 compared to what it should be)
Is there anyone who is trying the EA on different cross?

the ea runs with out a stop loss, don't know how it or the tp is calculated. the most i had at one time was 3 trades and due to fifo 2 was closed in profit and 3rd was closed as a loss, if it was not for fifo it should of closed as profit. Looking into offshore brokers so this problem can be avoided

I was stopped out again and lost money. My balance is now lower than I started with. This is now the 3rd times I LOST MONEY.
1. I had the wrong GMT settings!
2. I traded the wrong pairs!
3. ????
Too risky? To less money on my account? Slow internet? Wrong leverage?
What is the next excuse for this b...s... Lion ?

I would like to add something here which i noticed about this EA,
this is not a best EA but this one is the better one,
it only trades 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday .. it doesn't trade when market opens on monday and when market close on friday.
it only trades at night time after 21:00GMT when there is no news data or less news data, when everything is calm and it takes 10 15pips profit.
when there is news data it will get crazy like today, today it opens 5 trades 2 with loss and 3 with profile overall just little loss.
i believe this is good EA not as bad as people say, we should give a chance for a month or more.
what you say guys ?

You are right. but it trade on monday too.
We have to prepare for margin call when the price move more than 120 pips against the open positions. so adjust the risk level you feel comfortable.
and when it makes trend against the position, you have to prepare for bust your account.
Let's hope and pray for not happen that.

At least for me, up to now, this EA is working very well, slow but steady.
I hope that Alex will keep it updated in case of market changes, and that he will contact us, his costumers, to send any new version (free of charge, of course).

I am using the recommended lot size and my drawdawn yesterday never exceeded 15% and all the trades closed nearly breakeven, and still in profit for the week. If your account was stopped out, you are trading at a ridiculous risk.
